The entire experience from ordering our food to receiving it was A+! Don 't let me forget that peach tea! Oh my lord, literally the best tea I 've ever had! My wife surprised me with a beautiful weekend getaway for my birthday. We came across this outstanding restaurant, and had a breakfast you won't believe. The service was great and the food was excellent, with a glass of wine. If you’re in the area you must go to enjoy the experience. We'll visit again , garentee. We recommend this establishment to friends and family.
We had a fantastic lunch at the Grit Counter! John was incredible! I had the pimento cheese with their smoked jalapeño sauce and the fresh, local grilled shrimp. It was impressive! The customer service was outstanding, and the food was incredibly fresh and delicious! As a fellow Grit lover, I highly recommend trying it. You won’t regret it!

Today, "The Grit Counter" was a lovely spot for low country cuisine with quick service. The shrimp and grits came in a generous bowl and made for a hearty meal. The sweet tea was delightful, especially served alongside their lemonade. I observed that other diners ordered lunch, and all the plates looked absolutely delicious.
Amazing meal. Fresh and delicious! Portions are of good size. Thank you for a great meal! I had the byob with smoked tomato grits, collard greens, corn and scallions. Also had fried green tomatoes. This meal was very satisfying.
Delicious! Definitely worth stopping in. We tried the shrimp and grits, ranchero and peaches and cream grits. The staff member at the counter was very helpful too!
I wasn't disappointed even after 15 years. I stopped the mandatory to have the grütze and the charleston hot huh. it was delicious with the right amount of heat.

This is a hidden gem. If you dont lije grits there are other options. The burger looks wonderful. It a quaint spot. The flavors blended well.
