On Saturday 11th June (2022) we went to Plesey, and ended up in The Leather Bottle public house. Two guys outside started speaking to us and we ended up talking about Colchester where we had something in common. We went inside this small dark bar and was included in the banter. Needless to say we were the last to leave, but asked to go back, which we will. It was a very enjoyable evening (especially as we didn't get there until 9pm. You can blame the driver (Mark) for that. He had been driving around (in circles) We met a lovely group of people and made very welcome. We certainly look forward to seeing them again, and continue where we left off. Just how a country pub should be!Friendly staff, great atmosphere and brilliant selection of pop up food trucks can't wait for the kitchen to open. Great value for money with a good selection of beers, wines and spirits.
This charming village pub is located in a stunning area. It was quite amusing when the room fell silent as we entered, but thankfully everyone was welcoming and the staff even joined in on the humor.
A pilgrimage for my best friend and I, absolutely wonderful little pub. Will definitely be going again when I am down south.

I visited a pop-up Caribbean food stall and it was fantastic. Paired with a delicious Guinness, I am eager to return again.
Good plain pub food and choice of good bitters on tap and great service, all in a lovely village pub.
Friendly staff. Great place for a jar. Great location and has a nice outdoor seating area.
