I decided to try a local restaurant and ordered two Sunday roasts. We asked if the small ones were child-sized. The menu included a choice of 2 out of 3 meats, seasonal vegetables, roast parsnips, cauliflower cheese, and gravy. We were seated quickly but had to wait 30 minutes for someone to take our order. This review is about my recent visit to The Lion. My partner and I have been there several times in the past year, however, the quality of service has declined in recent months. I called to book a table for myself and two friends at 6pm on a Saturday. I inquired about gluten-free options due to a friend with coeliac disease and other allergies. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, which was unusual for a Saturday evening. visited this pub an had ordered food for 3....whilst eating my food I found foreign items in my food the meal was refunded...but the other guests didn't finish their food because of this...... after checking on their hygiene rating its no wonder its a 3star........ I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone as how do you get foreign items in your food less its some tramp cooking it..... I'm sure this review will be challenged as its village people mentality.....they stuck up for people or company's that do wrong....like give them a chance
Sunday lunch on 18 December. Staff were welcoming polite and very attentive, frequently asking if we were happy and did we need anything else. I dont recognise any of the other reviews but I would not hesitate to recommend this to others. The roast was delicious and generously portioned. We will be back

This pub has changed beyond recognition. It’s under new management and unfortunately looks very sad both inside out. It used to be a special place but not now. We will not be visiting again.
We had to change our reservation time last minute and the staff was very accommodating. The food was excellent and so was the service. Good value for the price. Will definitely return.

Very friendly owners and staffs. The food was lovely. I found the price to be reasonable .I had Lamb cutlet from special board and King prawns pasta dish. We will be back soon.
