I absolutely adored the Local Bison restaurant. While touring the area this weekend, I stumbled upon this gem while searching for vegan/vegetarian options nearby. I was impressed with the variety of choices available and appreciated that the restaurant sources their ingredients locally. My meat-loving husband was thrilled to try the bison burger, while I opted for the roasted vegetable salad. We also indulged in some blistered okra, although we were tempted by the charred cauliflower as well. The dishes were not only delicious but also beautifully presented with vibrant colors. The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant were equally charming. We sipped on a local brew and a delightful G&T ma...

I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious and I appreciated the local touch. The flavors were fantastic and the ingredients were fresh. The Hummus platter was especially good, you could tell it was made in-house. We also tried the Bison Burger with Bacon Jam, which was amazing. If you like Gorgonzola, I recommend asking for a side for dipping. The staff were all very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. The restroom had some fun character, although it could have been a bit cleaner. We were just passing through town, but would definitely come back if we were in the area again. Thanks to the Galvez family for a great meal!
Inconsistent experience. The first visit was great, with delicious biscuits and gravy that I couldn't get enough of. Unfortunately, my second visit was a disappointment. For $13, I received a plate of greasy, crunchy potatoes, an egg, and what can hardly be called a biscuit. It seemed like I just bought a carton of potatoes and an egg. I've heard that this inconsistency is common here, so I think I'll pass on returning.
I have had multiple vegan offerings here. The burgers can be made vegan with the Impossible patty and vegan cheese. The Korean cauliflower banh mi is sweet and savory and served on a soft baguette. The jackfruit sandwich is reminiscent of a sloppy joe sandwich with a slice of grilled pineapple. Also- vegan brunch! Pancakes, biscuits and gravy, breakfast burrito. All delicious!! Book a table now
If you are plant-based and occasionally eat out to support the movement then definitely have brunch with the crew at Local Bison. I’ve have the pleasure of eating in some of the most popular vegan restaurants in LA, NY, London, etc and this is a very good option especially for T-town. For those of you that still cavort with zombies (meat eaters), they have options too.
The Local Bison has so many choices for vegans! I went for lunch and was a little disappointed that some of their entrees are only available at dinner, but they have so many other options I found something else to try. I ordered a sandwich with artichoke croquettes, and I loved it! Sandwiches also come with a side of fries, so the portions are plentiful.
To be honest, this is the best not fully equipped restaurant I could ever find options. I ordered the chupacabra burger vegan (without plucked wobble) and it was wonderful, all substitutions tasted great. the employees were very attentive and explained the menu well, and the lavender limonade was a good opportunity to cool off.
Honestly, this is the best not-fully-veg restaurant I've ever been able to find options at. I ordered the chupacabra burger vegan (with no pickled onions) and it was wonderful, all the substitutions tasted great. Staff were very considerate and explained the menu well, and the lavender lemonade was a nice way to cool down. Book a table now
Trip to Tulsa started off fantastically with a visit to the local bison. Vegan options clearly marked and the staff knowledgeable. Burger and chips were great too.
