My mother tried to make an online reservation, but it wouldn 't allow her for the amount of people we 'd have, so she decided to make the drive and come in person to make a reservation. She made a reservation for 5 adults, 2 children. Upon arrival at our reservation time, we were taken to a table for 2. After looking at the reservation, it seemed whoever booked the reservation said it was made for only 2 people. My mom expressed that she came all the way in to book this specifically to get the reservation done correctly. What I assume to be the manager or owner said Your reservation was booked for 2. We bought tickets for the “Adults and 10 and under” event, and our combined families included three kids under four and one one-year-old. Unfortunately, the restaurant seemed unprepared for young children. They used the same fragile dishware and table setup as they would for adults. We received admonishments like “Don’t bang the spoon on the table,” “Kids need to stay seated at all times,” and “Don’t handle the china that way.” We expected a more accommodating environment for kids in this age group. A group of five of us went for high tea and brunch yesterday, and it was a lot of fun. Megan was our server, and she was friendly and very helpful explaining the menu to us. Also the owners walked around and thanked folks for coming, which was very meaningful. It was a joy to support a local business. I have a food allergy, and they easily accommodated it. Every girl and woman need to experience this place. It's elegance is top notch, the ambiance is truly amazing and the food was delicious. The service was superb! You will probably talk about this place for days. Oh how I wish, a place like this was everywhere, so princesses and queens alike could enjoy. It's fit for king's and prince to. Just wow. Loved every dish we ordered. The crab cakes are the best we’ve had. The location is stunning: the split of the rivers. You can walk the grounds and be wowed yourselves. Now we’re booked for the Queen’s High Tea! Super excited. Also, cannot wait to try the Green Goddess.
Service from Megan was fabulous. She was also training in a new employee named Megan. Wonderful food and incomparable atmosphere! I cannot wait to go back. The owners both stopped to check on us and were incredible hosts with passion and a beautiful history.
The prices were too high for what was offered. The food did not meet expectations and the service was mediocre at best. The only thing this place really had going for it was the ambiance, at least on the day I visited.
