My husband ordered gammon egg And chips but was served what was the thickness of Lidl bacon egg and chips for over £17. His chips were rock hard and anaemic looking. I had sausage and mash with veg it was ok but very dry with minimal gravy. Veg was ok but tasted like frozen carrots to me. Not once did any staff member ask us about our food or made any attempt to clear up when we had finished so that I would have the opportunity to complain. Unfortunately I had paid prior to eating otherwise I would have refused to pay in full! Staff appeared to be plentiful preferring to chat amongst themselves and obvious friends at the bar. We used to regularly visit here for lunch or supper but never agai...

Located opposite the car park for the British Hill Camp, this restaurant is in a prime location that quickly filled up after midday on a Sunday. The crowd seemed to be a mix of locals and tourists. One of us ordered the roast beef meal, a typical Sunday dish that didn't stand out. The other had the dressed crab, which was enjoyable. We were a bit unsure about the pickled onions with the crab, but I suppose it's all down to personal taste. Unfortunately, the women's restroom was upstairs and not accessible for those with disabilities. On a positive note, they do allow dogs in the restaurant, which is a nice feature.
Very enthusiastic and friendly staff who are eager to please and nothing is too much trouble. Well presented food in an stylish and modern restaurant overlooking the hills. Excellent value, drinks cool, gorgeously decorated ladies toilet. Carpets in corridors to toilets, bedrooms, and in the lounge bar stained from frequent traffic. My clean white serviette left bits of cotton on my dark jeans which easily came off. Second time we have eaten in the restaurant, better than the first time!
After hiking on the Herefordshire Beacon, we decided to stop for lunch. The restaurant was quite busy, but the friendly and helpful staff quickly seated us in the bar area, which is dog-friendly. Despite my wife being Gluten Free, her dietary requirements were catered to without any issues. Our meals were well-presented and delicious. I highly recommend the cheese and ham ploughman's. Overall, good value for the money. Book a table now
This is a lovely little hotel in a great location. The staff are so friendly and helpful and c9ulsnt do enough to make sure your stay was a good one. The bar a restaurant where very nice, with a good selection of food and drinks. We had a four poster bed room, which was a really good size, with a huge bathroom. The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding areas. Would definitely stay here again.
My wife and I had visited this lovely hotel/restaurant some time ago and returned here for afternoon drinks. We were well served by John who was very kind, courteous and hospitable, making us feel very welcome. We also met Angel, who was equally welcoming and is certainly a great asset to the bar/restaurant. Thank you for such a pleasant experience. We look forward to coming here on a regular basis.
The service and food at this restaurant were excellent! The staff was very hospitable and accommodating. Even though we arrived an hour early, it was not a problem and we were greeted by friendly and attentive staff. Our drinks arrived promptly and the Sunday roast was the perfect combination of price, size, and quality. Well done!
We returned to this restaurant after remembering our enjoyable visit last year. So good was the food, that we returned for 3 nights in a row whilst working at a local event. We had different food every night and were not disappointed. Book a table now
