We had a large group with a private room reservation for 4 pm when the restaurant opens. Many of us arrived early or right on time, only to be told that the room was not ready and our reservation was not until 4:30 - wrong. So the bunch of us stood in the tiny foyer, many of us elderly, until we got the go-ahead. The salad was ok, but for 8.75 it was underwhelming. The tiny bowls of veggies (broccoli, mushroom caps, and potatoes) were not enough to fill ONE person, but we were made to share between 3 people at a time. Why on earth they didn`t provide each person with a bowl of veggies is ridiculous. The burners that the pots of broth were on were inconsistent in their heat, which made it fee...

We went to this restaurant to celebrate a family birthday. The table before us hadn't left yet so our reservation was a half hour late. We sat in the lounge and had a drink while we waited. The staff was most apologetic and the waiter told us the drinks we had in the lounge were free which I thought was a nice touch. The food was of good quality and plentiful. Because the service is spread out over a long period of time (we were there 2.5 hours) you realize you've had enough to eat - your appestat tells you when to stop. The chocolate fondue was the crowning touch. What needs to be improved is the table setups for larger groups. The booths are claustrophobic for 7 people. You can't cross you...
My husband made a reservation here for our 6th anniversary. You have to book well in advance to get the time you like. This is the kind of place you need 2 to 3 hours to enjoy your fondue meal. This was our first time here so the waitress was excellent in explaining everything to us and how it works. You cook everything right at your table. You can enjoy 4 courses - cheese fondue with bread pieces and veges, salad or soup, meat varieties all ready cut up to cook in the fondue pot and chocolate fondue with tiny cakes, marshmallows, strawberries and other fruit to dip. It may look like you are not getting a lot of food but believe me when I say you will get full. You eat and visit while cookin...
I have been to The Melting Pot before and my experience was fantastic !I was planning to go again but now I am expecting. I was not too sure if their cheese fondue is safe for pregnant women so I decided to call to ask. The lady who picked up the phone was very dismissive. I didn't mind being put on hold for 3 minutes (it was 4pm on a Wednesday afternoon, maybe she was extremely busy) but when I asked her the question, first, she wasn't even fully listening that she asked, "What is it that you're allergic to again?". Secondly, her response was not very reassuring. She told me, "There's a lot of pregnant women who come here so I think it should be fine." I was hoping that she would at least d... Book a table now
Had the opportunity to try the Melting Pot without any prior knowledge or experience with fondue. Susan, our entertainer and personal menu assistant, was a delight to spend our three hour experience with. Typical dining experience can be 60-90 mins but if you want the full experience plan to be there for 4 courses and at least 2 hours. Summer selection of local craft and house special cocktails added to the excellent food presentation and tastes. All the wait staff were impeccable and attentive. With four courses there is considerable set up and bussing of dishes and the bussing staff were excellent.Overall ambience of the restaurant was delightful. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.Would recomme...
We had been looking forward to dining at The Melting Pot since our arrival in Edmonton. Maybe we should have studied the menu more online but without the help of an extremely efficient & patient waitress, we might just have thrown our hands up in despair. Frankly, there were too many combinations & prices. After what seemed like an eternity, we finally decided on a classic Swiss fondue, complemented by some cured meats, which I have to admit was very good. The salad was then less impressive. I have to admit, it was the main "meat" fondue that threw us and we ended up going with our waitress's recommendations for meat & method of cooking. For the price however, we didn't feel that what arrive...
Back for our annual visit July 27/17 and we were not disappointed by our decision to return. We ordered "Quattro Formaggio", style Coq au vin, which featured 4 four different cheeses mixed together and melted with white wine and sun dried tomato pesto. Excellent. Salads were the Strawberry Almond and the Melting Pot special. Highly recommended. Desert was Dark & Deluce. Unbelievable. We were served by Aron who was exceptional.
Family gathering. Plenty of food in each course - four, which included cheese (2 flavours), Caesar salad, mixed meat, seafood and ravoli, and chocolate (2 flavours). All hot pots were kept nice and warm and temperature was adjusted as required. Excellent wait staff, water freshened frequently, dishes removed promptly. We were in one of the banquet rooms but never felt ignored. Wonderful experience. Can't wait to go again. Book a table now
