I stayed at the Bell Inn on the 17th and 18th of May and had breakfast at Ostlers on Saturday and Sunday morning. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. On Saturday morning, the poached eggs on toast were served without butter, and those in our group who requested butter received it frozen. One person found a large hair in their egg on toast, and when it was sent back, they received undercooked eggs. The "special" granola on Sunday morning was nothing special, and my husband's omelette was forgotten until he asked about it. Despite these issues, he was not charged for the omelette. The venue itself was lovely, but the food was mediocre and the service was poor.
I cannot speak highly enough of The Ostler. It was the perfect setting for my mum's 90th birthday celebration. The room was lovely, with large windows that offered a beautiful view of the hill. The buffet meal was excellent, with generous portions that tasted delicious. There were no complaints, and they took care to separate the vegan and vegetarian options from the meat dishes to avoid any confusion. The staff were incredibly helpful and made our celebrations even more enjoyable. I highly recommend The Ostler for anyone looking to book a fantastic venue.
I was lucky enough to be taken to this wonderful venue by my daughter for their Mother’s Day afternoon tea. Everything was amazing from the attentive and friendly service to the fantastic food. The little cakes were out of this world and I have to say that it was the best afternoon tea I’ve experienced….and I’ve had a few! Thanks to all of the staff, especially Laura and Lucy, we had a really lovely time. I would highly recommend this venue and I only hope that it will open once again for dinner, that used to be fabulous too!
This was a 49th Wedding Anniversary party for 35 people, ranging in age from 8 months to almost 99 years. All the guests really enjoyed themselves. The buffet Menu D) was very well presented and the food was delicious. Guests were impressed by the excellent wines available. As it was a lovely sunny day the patio doors were open and guests could eat inside or in the beautiful garden. Thank you so much to Lucia, Anna, Demi and colleagues all your hard work. We will find a reason for another party at Ostlers as soon as we can.

I hosted my 50th birthday party at The Ostlers last night and it was truly amazing. The food and service were outstanding at this private dining event. I had 40 guests and the room was beautifully decorated and looked very elegant. Luckily, the weather was nice so we were also able to enjoy the outside area. We had a singer perform and a table magician entertain us during our delicious 3 course meal. The staff were incredible and the service was flawless.
Unusual that another separate building became the breakfast room. Nice space, friendly staff. Chose simple omelette and a pot of tea for breakfast. Not quite on the mark with detail on the order, and a little basic. That said, quite tasty and arrived in good time to let me head to work meeting in good time. Cannot see it as a destination cafe, but works as hotel breakfast.
We had a great party for 38 guests. The food the ambience and the staff were amazing. I recommend anyone to have their parties at Ostlers especially wedding anniversary birthdays . The location is fab and has a beautiful garden. Lucia was so helpful in every way. Well done Ostlers this is our second memorable occasion and hopefully we will be back for more !

Simple, modern space with oak style and light at one end with a conservatory style. Good service and a good range of breakfast options. Very reasonable price and food well presented and cooked.
A lovely place for breakfast if staying at the Bell. Terrific staff and quality food.Hopefully in the future they’ll be able to open for longer hours.
