I recently had Sunday lunch at The Prospect in Runcorn and I highly recommend it. The atmosphere was friendly and the restaurant was spotlessly clean. I enjoyed roast beef that was freshly cut from a joint, along with fresh vegetables, roast and mashed potatoes, and gravy. The portions were generous and the food was delicious and hot. For dessert, I had a delicious chocolate dessert with ice cream. I will definitely be returning and I also recommend trying their midweek menu.
When we phoned to enquire about booking a table, we were advised it would not be necessary. When we arrived we could not get into the car parkas a bin wagon had blocked entrance. We were the only people in the lounge and were advised a number of dishes were not available. The food was hot and well cooked (fish batter over cooked). Most of the deserts were also not available, only enough ice cream for one. Staff friendly and it was clean. We will not be returning.
Well we did the right thing choosing here for our Sunday dinner. Big, big portions, plate was warm so it kept hot whilst we worked our way through it all. Very reasonably priced for the size. They also do an “ultra” sized portion where you get extra veg, pigs in blankets, stuffing etc. But no way could we have eaten any more than we did, glad we got the normal size. Staff were very pleasant and helpful
The staff at this restaurant were very friendly and went above and beyond to assist us. The drinks were top-notch, with a good variety to choose from, including two authentic ales. Last night, I enjoyed a fantastic meal and drinks at the recently managed Prospect restaurant. I ordered the chicken breast and I must say, it was of excellent restaurant quality. The atmosphere was enhanced by the music being played, which we really enjoyed. We will definitely be returning. - Eddie
Absolutely 1st class dinner! Highly recommended, homemade yorkies, pigs in blankets, homemade stuffing and huge portions of locally sourced Ham! AND I AM VERY PICKY REGARDING FOOD WOULD NOT BE OUT OF PLACE SERVED IN THE SAVOY! Can take away remainder if your kids portion defeats them!!!
Very nice pub with friendly staff and the Sunday brunch was spot on the four of us all loved it and it was our first visit and certainly won’t be our last. The food was hot very tasty thanks for the good experience

Sunday lunch, half empty pub, had to wait 45 mins for the food, sent wrong orders back and didnt receive the sides. Wont be going back
