The Refuge (san Carlos)

During our visit to The Refuge in San Carlos, we indulged in a delightful meal. We started with their Swiss Mustard pastrami sandwich, which featured the most tender pastrami, creating a harmonious flavor combination. Accompanying the sandwich we ordered a plate of poutine with bacon, showcasing squeaky cheese curds and a satisfyingly peppery gravy. To complete the experience, we paired our meal with a pint of the delicious Kwak beer. The Refuge truly impressed us with their flavorful pastrami, delectable poutine, and well-curated beverage selection. A must-visit for anyone seeking a satisfying and memorable dining experience.

5/16/23: All of our group had some type of pastrami meal. Pastrami is best in area, delicious. Went for Trivia Night Tuesday. Boulevard's Barrel Aged brew has been replaced with a darker stout (The Bruery Happens It's Tuesday). Still prefer Boulevard's Barrel Aged. Last Month: Trivia night on Tuesday night! I love the Blue Cheese burger with an Impossible patty (ask them, happy to substitute) Craft beer assortment and trivia keeps me coming back.

The Refuge is amazing! I normally get the Reuben, but today I decided to try the pastrami tacos. Delish! (My fave is still the classic Reuben, but this a great option if you are less hungry as my server suggested) Goofy Fries were a great complement to my tacos!

Absolutely Awesome Pastrami and Slaw #19 and the BEST reuben I've ever tasted! Edgar and his team were friendly, professional, and made us feel like family! Thank you!

Always a winner. Food comes out quickly and my all-time favorite pastrami sandwich is still hands down the best in the Bay. bread pudding with ice cream
