We had a lovely Friday evening under the tent food and drinks were the usual very good we tried the clam pizza YUM and the crab cakes were delicous. But what it made it most fun were our two servers Mary and (I am so sorry but I cannot recall the other girls name but she is from Va. and has fabulous southern touch to her voice). They were so attentive and accommodating it was not too busy so we had the opportunity to chat with them. We always enjoy the Salty Whale never disappoints! Love the ambiance , but for some reason they just can’t get it right . Sunday afternoon, half full restaurant and appetizer took 25 min came out cold but we ate it we were starving). Entrees we’re not bad but. The salmon looked like they made it in the microwave. No crust , no thought in presentation or preparation. The steak sandwich was good but had about a cup of oil on the bottom of the roll. It took another 10 min to get the horseradish aioli that it was suppose to come with. The waitress was very nice and felt our pain.
Wanted to relax and listen to music on Sunday afternoon. Website says music starts at 3PM. Get there at 3:30 and they say starting at 4PM. (checked with manager) At 4:45 still no music, and speak with manager and he says does not know where musicians are, smiles and walks away. Unfortunately spent $60 on drinks and appetizers waiting for music. Must be a reason why the bar had only 15 people in it, but went down the street to Leggetts to a packed patio and great music for dinner.
Jersey Shore hidden gem! Stayed here recently with some friends for a weekend and the guesthouse was adorable. Very clean and the staff was friendly. We were told as guests of the hotel, we could have a discount at the restaurant onsite, The Salty Whale. We spent a lot of time there. Great food, great drinks, and great music. Can't recommend this place enough and looking forward to going back.

Thank you Ross and team for an unbelievable party. It's hard finding a place to host a family college graduation. Ross made sure to keep the drinks and food flowing. He made the children feel welcomed. He was personable and kind to everyone. The staff was excellent and were very attentive. Thanks for a wonderful night! Plus it was a Saturday after the beach. Well done!

Listen. We came here for a nice little meal not crazy expectations. The food was borderline inedible. I swear rather eat prison food. Taquitos we’re aight food 3.7/10 drinks were fine would not recomend Price per person: $30–50 Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
I stayed at the Guesthouse and it was wonderful! Clean, modern, friendly service. The restaurants bar is so fun and the food was good!! I got the crab cakes and the fish tacos. Great Happy Hour specials too.

Pretty good food. Highly recommend the BLT salad. Good vibe, not on the water but still fun and beachy. Good music (wasn't live when we went but I think they had a band earlier).
