Fabulous food, fabulous drinka, fabulous staff. The hotel has a cute old with a few modern features design to it which was very cosy. We stayed for 4 days and breakfast everyday was gorgeous, we had dinner here twice and both times were very tasty. Good quality and local produce which made the experience that much nicer. We will definitely be coming back here. They were so accommodating for my dog too which for me is a huge plus!
Weird to see recent bad reviews as we had a great meal here at the weekend.. I saw a rehire saying the manager was rude, if it’s the guy behind the bar, he’s a good lad, sarcastic humour so might be lost on some. The food was great and the restaurant area is lovely.. haggis pakora starter is a winner..
Lovely position slightly above the town: conservatory gives wide views. It's a short walk up a moderately steep hill out of the centre. Had an evening meal for 8 when it was not at all busy (Sunday evening 7.45). Varied menu. Food very good and staff helpful and friendly. No complaints at all.
Had a pint and a bite with some friends. Struck down with food poising that evening. Not something I've had before it was awful still feeling very poorly and exhausted. Contacted the page to inform them so they can talk to the kitchen so others aren't impacted and received no response Book a table now
Worst place to eat in Coniston. Service was very sloppy, rude manager and slow service. Also, no toilet paper in one of the toilets. Even ordering at the bar wasn’t the best experience. Again, rude staff. Wish we’d eaten at the Black Bull where you get excellent service and food.
Always been a favorite for a cosy post walk beer by the fire and the food has always been decent. New chef now after a while without a food menu. Slightly reduced menu but with great food and the usual terrific friendly service. Highly recommended, a proper coniston gem
We ate here last night and thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks. Steak cooked to perfection. Fresh salad and thoughtfully put the dressing on the side. Ales are fabulous with lots to choose from. Very friendly staff. We'll be back.
Avoid the chilli con carne. Made me ill and owner refused to acknowledge. Wouldn't go back anyway, had they offered a discount, however they will not. Very expensive, poorly staffed, unapologetic attitude. Book a table now
Dirty tables, toilets filthy, expensive, no atmosphere, wish we never wasted so much money. A Shame as the actual meal was very nice. Would never go back.
