Tucked away on a quiet side street, this restaurant was strongly recommended to me. It was a bustling Friday evening, and I had to wait a short while, but it was definitely worth it. I was served a generous portion of fresh haddock, perfectly cooked, accompanied by a hefty pile of chips—so large that I had to leave some behind—mushy peas, bread and butter, and a cup of tea. Considering the price, it was exceptional value for money. I even managed to squeeze in a delightful serving of apple pie and ice cream for dessert. The staff were friendly, polite, and attentive. I highly recommend this place!
I want to take a moment to celebrate The Swan, a fish and chip shop in Southport, for two main reasons. First, it has provided me with more joy over the years than almost any other place I can think of. This review serves as an extended thank you for countless wonderful dinners that I've enjoyed there, dating back as far as I can remember. Second, and perhaps more importantly, I believe that as many people as possible from around the world—especially those from London—should experience a plate of haddock and chips from this remarkable establishment.
very beautiful fish chips at a place. we ordered 2 adult cod-fish dinner and a children's sausage dinner. the adult came with broth and tee. the child is with buzzing or snatching, but enkelin did not want it, but enjoy the juice drink. it was delivered quickly, the teig was very good. I also ordered a freche bottle of beer, which was served beautiful and cold. the restaurant closed around 19.30 clock, so we desserts rejected. the bill for 2 adult meals 1 child meal and 1x £4 bottle beer was £30.
Nestled just off the main promenade, we noticed a significant number of locals waiting for takeout and enjoying meals inside the restaurant. We decided to order some takeaways for the family. The cod is perfectly cooked, featuring a light batter, and the chips are delightful. The scampi is freshly made and incredibly flavorful. The homemade steak pie is a must-try. The service is excellent, with efficient and friendly staff. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.

never before eaten in southport fish and chips, so on trip advisor for a recommendation. we stopped a few locals when we were close to asking where this was place, and they said we should try swans instead. they said all the locals were going there. very nice squid, chips and draughts and a pot tee. very good value and beautiful service also.
What a pleasant surprise! From the outside the restaurant, I didn't expect much but how wrong was I? Excellent value for money and the speed of the service would put fast food to shame. Excellent fish and chips and would highly recommend! Well done guys
