Wanted to get a quick meal with my two (well behaved) kids this evening as it’s convenient. I’d brought colouring books to entertain them quietly. I was pounced within the first metre of the door and informed children aren’t allowed after 6pm. I pointed out that it was 5.50pm thinking it fair that as long as we were sat down and ordered, we’d be fine. Apparently not. Despite point two on the facilities page of the pubs website saying it’s Child Friendly, it isn’t. They want kids out of the building by 6pm. Outdated, overly excessive and unwelcoming. Pathetic policy in this day and age. No thanks.

The signature steak was terrible, 50% fat! Warm (not hot chips) the steak was not cooked to medium well. The staff need some training in customer service, greeted by ‘what are you having’ is not what I expected. No ‘hi how are you welcome, are you dining with us this evening? So much improvement could be made here

This is a great pub, a great range of ales, very well kept, fantastic affordable prices, the staff are all knowledgeable and well trained, the decor is fantastic, clean and old school. Well worth a visit compared with some other local less well kept hostelries.

I like to come here, food and drinks are really nice, staff are nice, sometimes can get very busy and no where to sit for example on a Saturday I was going to go there but so many people standing and sitting but I do reccomend here. Book a table now

Had a very healthy lunch Mediterranean salad an fresh fruit and icecream which were both excellent. Pub was a cleaner and tidy far better than other 'Spoons visited. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Got to be 1 of JDW's smallest pubs. I always visit when in the area (from Dorset). It's always busy so obviously doing the right things, although that could just be down to the choice of beers their prices.

Pub is extremely friendly with helpful staff. Does great breakfasts and great lunchtime. Pub seems well organised and well stocked but tends to fill up a lot late afternoon early evening. Book a table now

Like all Wetherspoons their menus have stalled at Covid levels. Very static although tasty enough. Still great value for money but the menu needs an uplift.
