"A pleasant stay in a comfortable (although rather bland) room. An excellent breakfast, we were well looked after by Kirsty, a ray of sunshine on an overcast day. We have family in the area so will be back."

Stayed overnight en route to south coast. Initial impression was that it was like a toby, harvester, brewer’s fayre, with check in being done in the restaurant. Room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. Had dinner in restaurant, again ok, nothing special, one of our main courses a chef recommendation was pretty poor, but in fairness, they took it off bill. Staff were all very nice, and helpful. Outside patio needs a good clean, overflowing ashtrays was poor. Also thought it was surprising no tvs in bar. Reading other reviews, sounds like food quality has lost its way a bit. Hope they can get back to where it should be. Overall, acceptable for price, but would chose elsewhere next time.

Five of us went for an evening meal been many times before and it’s been very good. Starters were fine no problem. Four of the main courses were good and enjoyed. However mine was poor, I had gammon. It look like the end bit, a left over. It was far to thick at one end and far to thin at the other and grisly. The chips were under cooked, woolly and pale. I’ve had gammon before which has been good but this was poor. Why didn’t I complain , because one of our party had just lost his wife and I didn’t want to put further stress on him. The place is great and the staff were very good. This has certainly put me off gammon but not the pub. Here’s to better times.

Hotel /pub is really good, couldn't fault the food service and drinks. But pub is 3 miles from Alcester and studley with nothing around it which is great if you want a quiet stay . Problem we had they closed the bar at 8.30 on a sunday night ,so if you've had a tiring day out and you want a relaxing drink its impossible without driving elsewhere which is a shame as the buisiness lost alot of money because of this policy

We've visited twice and had a very unfortunate encounter with a male member of staff on the second occasion and will never go back. Completely arrogant and unnecessary attitude and a total jobsworth. Other places to spend our money!
