We’ve wanted to stop here numerous times but could never make it work. Today, August 20, 2023 was the day, and it was beyond expectations. Steph was an incredible server and took amazing care of us. She was personable, attentive, informative, and made us completely comfortable. The food was next level!! This place is far from home in another country... actually only about 60 min except for the congested border entry to the US on a Sunday. Anyway. This place is awesome. Loved the vibe. Our server was super warm and friendly and made the experience even better. My son wanted to do military dress up today so we did it together and his dinner choice was a waffle that he loved. I on the other hand am doing vegan keto so I had to stick with salads...Which was hard to do in a place like this with so many great options on the menu. I got the beet salad and a kale salad. If I could give more stars I would! Hands down the best plant based food I have ever had. Drove two hours to buy a bunch of vegan food with my friend and would drive twice the distance for VHC. We had the Reuben and it was the best sandwich ever, do not leave without one. Also had the Crispy Chicken sandwich with the tater tots and again, completely blown away. Those taters were magical and the chicken had an amazing texture with a crispy exterior. We split the Mac and Cheese and demolished it within minutes. The pictures aren't flattering or too pretty but it's the taste that matters and it will make your day wonderful. WILL be back for another Reuben and dying to try the seitan bites.
Came here for the first time a few months ago. Restaurant was clean and staff was somewhat friendly. Felt that we were unattended to quite a bit and had to frequently make contact with our waitress. I love vegan food and was surprised at how delicious most of the items we ordered were. The only thing that was quite bland was the pasta. The seitan wings were amazing and the flavor profile was awesome. I did enjoy the salad. Would be curious to try other options off the menu. Book a table now
Favourite spot in Welland. Mandy’s a sweetheart and Tino’s always so warm and welcoming. Mandy’s adventurous and always finds a way to improve the overall dining experience. They’re in the midst of trying to make all the items in house and I absolutely love that I get to be involved with the whole experience. Looking forward to my next visit. Buffalo cauliflower wings, deep fried oyster mushrooms and the ravioli dishes are absolute favourites. Highly recommend!
While I’m not vegetarian I appreciate a good meal and a healthy one at that. Vegan Hippie Chick offers plenty of plant based meat options for the Herbivore at heart or those looking to expand their palate. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options. The food is full of flavour and fresh and the service great. Will be back to try more of the menu in the future.
I have eaten at VHC on a number of occasions now and have always loved the food. The owner and other staff are very friendly and always accommodating of my toddler and baby. The chick'n wings are hands down the best you will ever taste. I would highly recommend to both vegans/veggies and omnis. You won't be disappointed!
One of the best vegan places around. The menu is outrageous the selection is incredible. I have been here a few times (mostly take out) and have always felt super welcomed by the staff. Love this place and always recommend it to fellow vegans/vegetarians who visit the area! Book a table now
