Chose this pub for convenience and reviews off Tripadvisor Gave it an average for a couple of reasons food was good but not amazing really was lack of staff and billing issues which put a downer on our experience at pub We all chose our Sunday roast off a board which said large one price and small another no indication that lamb was more expensive (or I just didn’t see it also 2 dinners opted for all meats which was extra as expected but was charged for lamb dinners which was already £2 extra then another £3 for mix of meat so just be aware and maybe ask first where I didn’t I don’t mind paying but I don’t hidden surprises when I get the bill so maybe clearer menu or staff actually informing...
Nice friendly owners, and the pub was located in pretty location overlooking a green. However the roast dinner could have been better. We were booked in on Sunday but unfortunately I think we got the late offerings of roast potatoes. They were hard, difficult to cut and not easy to eat. The rest of the dinner however was lovely. Squeaky door noise was painful when sitting near to it. Wd40 will sort it in no time!
A lucky dip visit at 2.15 looking for a light lunch. Immediately welcomed by the landlord who said take your choice with the menu. I had an excellent sweet and sour pork sizzler with rice and prawn crackers and my wife had a delicious spicy vegetable soup. We would be more than happy to visit again.
I was disappointed with the limited menu choices at this restaurant. There was no daily special available, and two of us tried the steak and Stilton pie, which was overly salty and the meat was tough and chewy. I opted for the chicken burger, but found it to be nothing special.

The service at Village Inn was top-notch. We requested vegan burgers and the waitress made sure to double check with us twice to ensure the ingredients met our dietary needs. The food was delicious and the friendly service made us feel right at home. Thank you!
one word. disgusting. i was here with my mini left it unatended in the car park and caught this boy violating it. the aftermath was rancid
Had a nice meal there today , shame the menu was bit limited but imagine that was because it was a bank holiday
The staff is always welcoming with a friendly smile. The owner is talkative and accommodating.
