A trip into the city can easily be the undoing of any healthy eater, but I have found a lovely cafe that meets almost all my food needs (you know, the ones that make normal eaters roll their eyes). If you are heading in to Pitt Street Mall, QVB or Town Hall - then it is right around the corner, only 1 block away. The Walrus has just opened on Pitt Street across the road from Teds Camera House, and it is exactly what this location needed. They have gorgeous cold pressed juices (I had the green one which was brilliant), a huge selection of fresh sandwiches & wraps, and some fab breakfast menu items. They also have a window with some sweet treats which include a gluten free range - but see my bl...

Here for brunch. Loving The Walrus juice and hot chocolate. The green juice is my favourite as it's jam packed with flavour. We had brunch in such a cosy interior. Lots of greenery and timber finishing (I'm a fan!). Now, onto the food. I ordered avocado toast, salmon salad and corn fritters... they were all delicious. I'm not really a fan or fritters, but this one, was a delight at The Walrus. It was sweet and tasty with the right balance, I ate mine all up! It gets busy during lunch time, so come in earlier or later to avoid the crowd. Great service, friendly and attentive staff. For more of my foodie adventure Follow me on Instagram @hellomissmay  x

We ate at The Walrus a couple of times during our stay in Sydney. This is a very welcoming bright, clean café serving excellent food. The best breakfast I had was the poached eggs, sour dough toast and smoked salmon, well presented and delicious. My partner also raved about his bacon and egg with trimmings. All the food in the café looked inviting and very reasonably priced for a city café. They also do a fabulous pot of English tea. The staff are very friendly, offering advise on attractions and places of interest from experience, a real service with a smile. This is a must for good food in a very friendly atmosphere. Thank you The Walrus.

Hmmm closed on Saturday Hey? Better update the ... Grief Probably the best-looking decor in a cafe we have already been - we want this to be set up at home. Grief Grief The food is not presuming, it's exactly what the menu is just forward and just as expected, but the pain perdu looked very tempting ... we will come back next time. Grief Grief Overall, I would say that you get what you expected, and a little bit more. Not the most creative / Instagram-worthy food, but see if you eat with your stomach and not your camera - and you want to chat in comfort. That's your place. Grief Book a table now

Stopped by for lunch today around midday. I ordered 'The Walrus free range chicken and quinoa salad - Comes with pistachio, honey roasted bacon, spring peas, shaved fennel, Parmesan & house creamy dressing' $19 whilst my friend Sarah got the Vego Delux Sandwich for $17.We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and they both were big servings! Staff were pleasant and tentative. Overall, it was a good first visit and I would go back.

If you go to the Walrus, there is a warm, bright and spacious atmosphere. It's great to sit down comfortably in a CBD cafe, and enjoy a meal. The meal was delicious ???? Especially the hot oats, one of the best I tasted. The coffee was beautifully served and extremely well served. The fresh juices were always nice as a caffeine replacement. House this cafe.

I have visited this Cafe over a number of years as it is close to our Sydney office. I hadn't been for about 12 months and whilst it was always reasonable, the new owners have stepped it up a notch. I visited two days running for breakfast and the service was prompt and friendly, and the food was terrific.

I ate here twice this week. Monday I had the salmon salad with yellow red beds and honey walnuts on a spinach bed. So delicious. I went back on Tuesday and had a tuna baguette. Such friendly service and employees. I'm sure!
