Even though there was a reduced menu some of the food was still unavailable. There were 3 or 4 other clients in the pub max, so not really overly busy at all! After an hour and 15 mins and asking for the 3rd time we were spoken to rudely by the waitress from across the pub “our food is fresh and not cooked in a microwave”! We were annoyed and hungry with kids so asked to cancel our mains, and were then asked by the manager, “did you still want your starters!” There was no apology for the delay in the food, or an explanation as to why there was a delay. At that point we decided we would pay for drinks and leave. They didn’t charge us for drinks however couldn’t wait for us to leave and showed...
I am extremely disappointed as I had made a reservation for two people today to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. When we arrived at 1:52 for our 2:00 reservation, we were informed that a group of four had arrived for an earlier reservation, but had now turned into a group of six. As a result, they were given our table to accommodate the additional two people who had not made a reservation. Needless to say, we were very disappointed that we were unable to dine at the restaurant. We will no longer recommend this establishment or return in the future. It was a disrespectful way to treat paying customers.
We made a reservation for Sunday lunch at 1:00 pm. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly waitress/bar staff who guided us to our table for six using a one-way system. She took our drinks and food orders promptly, and our drinks arrived quickly. However, the starters took a while to arrive, and the main courses took even longer. Despite the delay, the main courses were enjoyable. One issue was that the manager served our main courses without wearing a mask or visor, which was concerning. Overall, the meal took about 2 hours from start to finish.
Stopped here for Friday night drinks only. This is a good atmospheric establishment with good facilities all around. There is a car park on the side. The bar staff were friendly and welcoming. The place was very busy. Choices of beers was good. This is our first visit here since the ownership has changed. Others pubs in the area stopped doing restaurant food menu seems to have helped the Wheel. We will have to visit here soon to sample the menu.

This restaurant is a fantastic option for vegetarian meals, which can be hard to find nowadays. We appreciate that it is family-run and everyone seemed to work together seamlessly. The owner personally checked on our meals and thanked us for choosing to dine there on Valentine's Day, which was a lovely touch. The waitress was also very friendly. It has a cozy, local pub atmosphere. We will definitely be returning soon. Thank you!
We were invited for a family birthday get together and Sunday roast lunch. Food served was excellent and the roast beef we had was tasty and well cooked. Nice meal and most enjoyable. Service very pleasant and made to feel welcome. Good traditional family pub atmosphere.
Staff would not let me in on arrival as said they were full, but were happy to accept a group of 4 girls with no reservation immediately afterwards, clearly the landlord has an eye for the ladies or simply wanted a table with more custom on. Pub to avoid.
Have visited post lockdown with all new meadures in place. Friendly welcome upon arrival and can choose a table. Table service throughout with really friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Food is great and really tasty.

A group of us went for a meal here and we were very pleased with the quality of the food. Everyone’s meal was hot and tasty. Tilly looked after us and was a credit to the establishment.
THE WORST PLACE TO EAT. AWFUL SERVICE. BAD ATTITUDE AND OWNER HAS BAD ATTITUDE. Generally would not recommend at all. Had such an awful experience due to bad service and rude waiters.
