A mistake was made during the ordering of my meal, either by the staff or myself. These things happen. It turns out I'd paid more for the version of the dish which I was served I got prawns, but I'd wanted chicken. This was pointed...out to me quite literally by the staff member pointing to the receipt, rather than speaking to me about it. I found this rude. I I asked if the more expensive prawns could be substituted for chicken, but I was told no and I'd have to buy the dish again. I won't eat prawns and I wanted chicken, so I reluctantly I did indeed buy my dish all over again. I was disatisfied and unhappy at this point... but that wasn't what has really driven me to write this review......
We were a groupe of colleagues meeting up for the first time this year, two drove all the way from Stuttgart to be there, thank goodness we'd booked a table in advance because the place was constantly filling up the whole evening. Don't sit...around too long waiting for a waiterwaitress to take your order, it's self service, you have to get your own drinks from the cooler on the right next to the cashier, if you want wine you have to pay first and it will be brought to your table. Same with the food, you have to line up at the cash desk give your order and pay, when it's ready it'll be brought to the table by one of the staff. Three of us had starters, I wasn't over the moon with the spring...
This is one of my favorite places to go for a quick lunch. The food is always good and the service is friendly. I like the idea of ordering and instantly paying at the cash register. It eliminates the time spent waiting for menus, ordering...and waiting the cheque to come for busy or impatient people. The portions are just the right size and the food tastes great. Location is also very convenient and in the warm seasons they have a lovely quiet terrace away from the city's crowds and noise
Read reviews from Tripadvisor and seeing directly across from hotel thought we would try! Emailed to book a table the night before, no reply. Turned up on night were given a seat upstairs. Dinner served promptly however no hors d'oeuvre were offered. Main was served...warm but not hot. Desert was only one option from Heat did not rise and ended up quite cold. Tripadvisor got this wrong this evening

Food tastes and is cheap, the portions are not too big and not too small, the kitchen works fast. Only the absence of an operation can be counted negatively.
RUDE service and mediocre food. I use to come to Thong Thai every so often until their staff was extremely rude to us. Then I didn't come for about years..
