I would suggest avoiding the Lenten special at this restaurant. The white fish, walleye, and catfish all tasted the same and were served in very small portions. The waitress was unable to differentiate between the dishes on the plate, stating that once they were breaded and fried, even the chef couldn't tell them apart. The clam chowder was enjoyable, but the bread served with the meal was disappointing. For the price of $26 including tax and tip, I expected more than a cold onion bun and half a slice of rustic Italian bread. Excellent service and food! It?s truly hard to find even decent service anywhere these says, but our server was wonderful! He really knew the menu and made great recommendations. He was friendly but not intrusive. Very professional. The food wasdelicious from the drinks to the starter salads, main course and dessert. I?m usually disappointed by salads in restaurants, butnot here! The main course was hot, cooked perfectly, and bursting with flavor. We got the creme brûlée for dessert and werenot disappointed! We were very happy with our experience there!
The service was good initially, but the wait for the main course was too long. The food was average at best. This was my first visit to ABS and I had low expectations due to negative reviews in the past. Despite giving it a chance, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. The surf and turf lacked seasoning and the steak was not very flavorful. The swordfish was decent but it did not have the garlic char as described, resulting in a lack of flavor.
We have not visited The Tin Fish for a few years. There were only 2 wait staff taking care of the dining room on a Saturday night. This caused the waiter to rush through the ordering process. They did not explain the specials. Food runners were great and friendly. The prices were quite high in comparison to others, about $10 more. What was suppose to be Jasmine rice was plain white rice. I ordered fish tacos lobster mushroom bisque. the bisque was not what I expected. the color was muddy, no lobster of taste was out. the tilapia fish tacos we are tasteless. At some point, the fish has not been added a spicy. I had hoped that this would have been a better experience with fish dishes in a fish restaurant.
Food was we excellent. Not just preparation and presentation, but the flavor of the seafood was intense the way only fresh products can. Prices were not unreasonable especially given the level of service and food quality. We will be coming back heresoon, it was well worth it.
The seafood at this restaurant is always fresh, with generous portions and delicious flavors. The service is top-notch and informative. We decided to sit in the bar area, which had a more lively atmosphere compared to the dining space.
