The lunch menus offer the best value at this restaurant. Most of the sets are priced at under $10 and come with generous portions of meat and rice, as well as a salad and your choice of spring roll or sushi. Hand rolls are also available for a cheap price of $2 each, and they are made fresh. Phone orders are accepted, and I recommend ordering in advance during the busy lunch hours between 12 and 1:30. However, the lunch sets are available until 4:30 for those who miss the peak lunch rush.
20years of Tasty food, good portion of sushi, never fail . the “Wafu steak” is my favourites, Cooking over stove at your table what a uniquely enjoyable experience and the food was excellent and fresh service by the lady boss ,also the best Tempura& Gyoza i ever had ! Compared to restaurants in the City, this was reasonably priced and you got good food, nice sized portions to share. We highly recommend.
We have enjoyed Tomomi in the past and so chose it for a quick mid-week dinner. We are not sure why, but on this occasion the restaurant's service fell in a heap. Everything was unbearably slow, plates were left on tables after customers had left and there seemed to be tension in the kitchen! Hopefully this is a transient problem as the food is great!
The food at Tomomi Japanese Restaurant is fantastic. I have been a loyal customer for years and it remains my top choice in Melbourne. Great little find. The California rolls are the best I have eaten anywhere. Reasonably priced and the lunch menu is incredible value. Miso, salad, gyoza, and a large bowl of rice and chicken teriyaki. $8.90! This place is my pick of the lunch spots in Kew.
The lunch sets at this restaurant are fantastic. They offer a choice of chicken, beef, or fish with spring rolls, soup, and a side salad. The prices are reasonable, making it one of the top spots for lunch in Kew.
Yum! Went in for a quick take away dinner. The waitress was nice enough to let me pay under the min on card. Sushi rolls were fresh and yum. Thank you to the lovely staff.
