Tried this place, after craving Japanese food and looking for a local place with a friend. Stumbled upon this, which was new to us. Greeted by a rather old man (appears to be the manager?), and who gave a lot of attention to us. Place was not too busy for a Sunday night, definitely good place for a normal conversation without having to shout or keep your ears peeled.  Ordered the chicken katsu don ($15.5) which was a little on the pricey side for a katsu don. Had the spider roll for $17.5, and fine, this was definitely pushing in price. The taste was average, nothing special. I felt the serving in the sushi was a little smaller than expected however. The food at Torin is nice but nothing special in my opinion, but are presented really nicely. The dishes are fresh and quite tasty and is a great place to go for a quick lunch. They have a number of lunch sets that aren't too expensive and have quite abit to them. I would say the rest of the menu is quite pricey in comparison to places like sushi hotaru (where sushi plates are $3.30 each). 6 takoyaki balls costed me $8 alone. <br/ <br/ I would say if you do want to this place, go during lunch so you can grab one of the sets.

I urge others to eat here. I went here with my mother and we ordered a sashimi great set (apparently for men, from my experience it is for men). because there were so few quantities of sashimi for the price, I felt saddened and, in addition, the food quality was bad as it did not taste fresh. it somehow ruined our nights and I wouldn't go back there.

When entering, we were welcomed by a very attentive man I suspect is the owner? The service here is very vigilant and prompt. Grief We felt slightly suppressed for this restaurant - the ambience had this deep, antique Japanese teahouse mood The menu is simple, but appetizing Japanese food - also Korean. I recommend the trying on the salmon salad. Book a table now

Love this Japanese restaurant in Eastwood. It’s my go to restaurant around this area. The staff are friendly especially the owner he always has a polite conversation with my partner and I, the sashimi and sushi is always super fresh and good quality.

Good service, fluent english speaking waiter probably makes this place more comfortable amongst English only speakers. Price was moderately expensive, grilled salmon roll was great! Fresh sashimi with the bento box.

Really enjoyed the ramen. Soup was full flavoured. You can taste the ginger in the Karage chicken, which most shops you don't. Would definitely come back to try other stuff. Book a table now
