When Seoul meets stomach. A few weeks back, our team spent a portion of the afternoon dining at Urban Seoul in Irvine. This location is semi casual compared to their second restaurant at the Irvine Spectrum. The inside is relatively small, with a variety of tables and booths lining the walls. Outside there is also 2 3 patio seats. We opt'd to sit on their high top patio tables to get some extra needed sunlight. Since the menu looks absolutely delicious, we ordered a smorgasbord to share! This included: Street Corn my all time favorite item. Garlic, cheese, and yummy spices all mixed in with corn. This creamy corn was absolutely delicious and the perfect appetizer. The portion sizes really depend on what you choose; some dishes may be small but are packed with flavor, while others are large and offer great value for the amount you receive. We tried the short ribs and the pork belly tacos, which were incredible! The loaded fries were unique and surprisingly tasty as well. The service was attentive, with our water glasses being constantly refilled, and our food arrived in a timely manner. Our server was friendly too. I would definitely return!"

So after our party had dim sum at Tim Ho Wan, my friends were still hungry and decided to pick another place to eat within the Diamond Jamboree Plaza. Unfortunately places like BCD Tofu House, Kula Revolving Sushi, and Coco Ichibanya had ridiculously long waiting time appropriately one hour) and we had no choice but to pick Urban Seoul because we were able to grab a table immediately without having to wait. Urban Seoul specializes in Korean fusion cuisine like Gogi Quesadilla, Gogi Gravy Waffle Fries, Gogi Slider, Gogi Tacos, etc. They also offer more traditional Korean dishes like Korean spicy rice cake, bibimbap, etc. My friends weren't too happy with the kitchen and started to run out of...
They really switched things up here! I was very confused because last time I came here it was a Korean Mexican fusion restaurant but they serve Taiwanese food too now and their menu has changed a lot!! The menu also says Herb and Spice instead of Urban Seoul. Seems like they still use Urban Seoul as their name though? We got the Loaded Waffle Fries, Braised Pork Belly and the Beef Noodle Soup. The Waffle Fries were probably the best thing in our order. A great hefty portion with a variety of toppings and waffle cajun fries. Super tasty. The Braised Pork Belly was quite decent as well. The meat was incredibly soft and practically melted in my mouth as I ate it. I was expecting the dish to com...
We came late Saturday morning, expecting to do a mini food crawl at Diamond Jamboree. You know, appetizer here, drink there, dessert at another place, end with a couple of choice sushi at Kura... parking at 11:40am was wide open by the bank nest to Alton! By 12:30, it was starting to fill. We started here and I got the 3 tacos with a little variety spicy pork, pork belly and gogi. ALL were so tasty and well prepared. For the pork belly, I was imagining something like what they serve at ramen places, but here it was more like lechon (crispy). So good! My wife got the Urban 3b (bibimbap) gogi and it was a full meal! Very tasty and filling. I had to help her finish it. We were so full that our... Book a table now
Terrible experience... I should have realized something was off when everyone mentioned different menus and owners. They happily accepted our Groupon, but it seems like we paid for really bad food. We ended up tossing all our meals, and I have a feeling we might get sick after the few bites we had. On top of that, we were definitely overcharged for the popcorn chicken, as the menu price was lower than what we were billed. The curry fish was inedible; the fish seemed raw, was mushy, and had an awful color. The curry itself was thick and gelatinous, making it look like it had been sitting out for ages. The popcorn chicken was tasteless and served cold. Our food took over 20 minutes to arrive,...
Urban Seoul is not what it used to be. I should've known better when they didn't have kimchi fried rice anymore. The entire restaurant is different now, I feel like maybe they should use different name. It's really misleading. To us the food was a little overpriced for what they are. My friend paid $14 for a piece of pork belly, bland egg drop soup (almost like it's just hot water), and cold mac n cheese. Personally mac n cheese did not go with the meal regardless that it looked like it came out of one of those instant mac n cheese. 2 of my other friends ordered fried chicken with curry and it came out differently for some reason. One the chicken has sauce on it but the other one does not. W...
FOOD COMA ALERT! So yummy and the waiter was very kind! So kind that we even stayed a little after closing and he still filled our waters even though it was like 15 minutes after close. The food was DELICIOUS. Try to variate the meats since too much gogi is an over whelming taste for everything. I highly recommend getting the gogi quesadilla and gogi tacos! I'm definitely coming again : It's also in the same location as many other asian inspired eateries! So after Urban Seoul, take a less than a 15 second walk to boba, ice cream, etc.! Love it!!!
We spent the day at the Irvine Spectrum Center and decided to have lunch at Urban Seoul. What a fantastic choice! My daughter ordered the chicken katsu sandwich, and it was enormous. Two slices of bread enveloped a fried egg, tomato, honey-glazed coleslaw, and avocado. It was absolutely delicious. I opted for the gochujang beef taco, which was outstanding. The sauce was delightful. This was easily the most memorable lunch of our vacation so far, and I would definitely recommend this place for a meal. I think they even have a happy hour! Updated menu. Listed in my photos below. Happy hours are from Sunday to Thursday . 5-7pm. Got the crabby patty , the lechon kuwali rice bowl and the strawberry cheese milk tea . Crabby patty needed some sauce so I suggest the pickled jalapeños the chef makes or the pico de gallo extra side to drench with the buns. Rice bowl was nice. Wish it was a little bigger as my gf was digging into my food after :p The addition of Filipino beers was fun to try since it's crafted by a female brewer and won awards (I liked the amber ale) .
