From the outside this looks like a simple buffet type Italian style restaurant, once inside you discover you really do have to queue at the counter for your food. At first, I was not impressed. So we stood, 5 of us, waiting in line and then finally giving our order to one of the counter staff (there is a row of staff). Then they proceed to select the pasta ordered and the ingredients. The pasta is cooked in an automatic water boiler to perfection whilst the other ingredients are cooked in a wok right before your eyes. We are regular users of this chain across Europe. We visited this branch of the chain in mid afternoon for a late lunch. The restaurant was not full but there was a distinct lack of any management evident on site which led to chaos at the servery's and queue jumping uncontrolled by staff. The restaurant had also run out of a number of desserts. It was not efficient, not speedy and not like the usual Vapiano. We had no-one to offer up our disappointment to save for the cashier.
If you want to have a familiar food (meaning a break from local food) when you are travelling then this is a place you can rely on. We have been visiting this chain since the summer and with them you play it safe, you know you get fresh ingredients (they make their own pasta) and tasty food.The risotto was a bit smaller than usual but the overall experience was really good and with a very reasonable price (less than 30 euros for salad, risotto and 2 beverages)

I came here with a friend for a late Saturday night meal. Our experience at Vapiano was brilliant. The pizzas we had were freshly made and the ingredients were of high quality. We also had a bottle of Pinot Grigio which was excellent. A lot of variety to the wine carte. I will most definitely be coming back. Great value and tasty food. Would recommend this to any Mediterranean food lover!
I have been to quite a few different branches of Vapiano and they do a good job. Good choice of pizza, pasta and salad options. This branch is modern and well-designed. Service was good. Not a place for a special meal. But if you want something fast which is not fast food, this is a good option.
A little bit of heaven. Food tastes superb. This is one of the restaurants that should make fast food restaurants go out of business. This is good food fast! They make everything right in front of you except for the authentic tasting Italian wood fired pizza, and it'll be ready in 10 minutes.
Vapiano Restaurant Köln really near to Köln Messe so you can just walk there a bit more than 5 minutes. A lot of alternatives to eat and drink. Very friendly crew, always smiling and helpful. You can spent a time there and go back to work. Portions are rich, tasteful meal. Thank you guys.

This was my first experience of a Vapiano restaurant and I was overwhelmed by how busy it was. The food was OK not brilliant and the service, well as you all know, it's mainly self service. They have a reasonable menu but some interesting specials, would I go again? Properly not, sorry.
Great time with my family and friends- had a really nice pasta and the coffee was good, and good coffee can be hard to find in Germany!
