Vick’s chaat is a Berkeley favorite. They have some really good items and some okay ones. The Aalu parantha is delicious, and the sweet and sour lemon pickle that comes with it is out of this world. However I was very underwhelmed with the quality and quantity of the pani puri chaat and the pav bhaaji. The mango lassi was ok. Since I wasn’t very hungry, I just wanted to try one dish, and the chole bhature came highly recommended by many. I hadn’t had a decent chole bhature since moving to the U.S., so my expectations were not very high. The place was quite clean and spacious, and they operate on a token system where you pay first and then they call your name when your food is ready.

The menu and lineup is intimidating when you step into Viks, but the food is delicious and the staff is so friendly. We asked about several things on the menu and they patiently answered. After ordering the samosa cholle, chicken kathi kebab, and koliwada fish, we waited in a room where a line of cooks and callers would pump out dishes (this took 15 minutes). We grabbed our to go bag and headed out to the parking lot in the back, where they have 2 covered seating areas with picnic tables that could see at least 12 groups. A great location, great food, and plenty of parking.
If you are looking for a great Indian food, this is the place. You need to download and order the app, which is really annoying to me because I am old and I don't want to constantly download apps to order food from any restaurant. You're doing a lot in the bay. Not many places where you can order food from a real person. While waiting for your food, you can shop in their huge grocery store. There are tons and tons of spices, and good quality products. The food is delicious. At the moment there are about 30 outdoor places. The dining tables are still closed after Covid.

Grabbed Takeout on the way to the Greek theatre and it was perfect for a picnic. I ordered online and the food was ready as soon as we arrived in 15 minutes. Great taste in every chaat I ordered. It would be helpful if the online order provided a bit more information about the specific dishes, how many I ordered were quite similar and I needed a little help to distinguish which ingredients from each dish. The portions were large and although the samosas were very fried in the car, they were made perfect without too much oil. I hope to visit again and try more dishes!
I really enjoyed the Bhatura Cholle and Chicken Biryani. The Masala Dosa was also quite good. If you want a Mango Lassi, I recommend buying a jug from the attached grocery store and sharing it in the water cups, as it's much cheaper than purchasing it from the restaurant.

I absolutely loved the food at this restaurant. The bhaturas and shev puri were my favorites. We also tried the dahi puri and bhajis, which were great as well. If you're in the area, this place is definitely worth a visit!

There is plenty of parking available. The food was excellent overall. While the Tandoori and Biriyani were decent, every other dish was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Great Indian food. Get the fish when it is in the menu. The Samosas are delicious. Chaat is of course a must
