"Yum! Yum! This small an intimate restaurant is a must experience. No need to put on your Sunday best but the casual and cozy environment is worth it. The short ribs melt in your mouth. That sauce on them is amazing! We also had fried green tomatoes, biscuits, shrimp and grits and drinks. Nothing disappointed. We will be back here!"

I was pleasantly surprised to discover this upscale restaurant in the southern part of Hyde Park. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff was very knowledgeable about the dishes and menus. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes, but I found them to be lacking in flavor and seasoning. Our waiter suggested we try the short ribs, and I'm so glad we did. They were tender, well-seasoned, and the portion size was great. We also ordered cornbread, Mac and cheese as sides, and banana pudding and red velvet cake for dessert. All of our choices were delicious and didn't disappoint. I would give this restaurant 4 stars, but unfortunately, the non-refundable $20 reservation fee for 2 peo...

Virtue is definitely worth a visit. From the moment we walked into the restaurant until we left, we enjoyed every aspect of our experience. The ambiance, the staff, and even the other diners all contributed to a fantastic dining experience. It was clear that a lot of love and care went into every dish. Is this what good southern food in Chicago is like? If so, we're sold. We tried green tomatoes, catfish, short ribs, mac and cheese, collard greens, and cornbread with honey butter. Every dish was delicious and made us feel like we were back home. We wanted to try one of their tempting dessert options, but we were too full. We'll definitely have to come back to try it. Two enthusiastic thumbs...

Sitting on a Sunday afternoon and the place was booked all day, but luckily it was only about 10min waiting for places at the bar. After tasting the food, I fully understand why they are booked and busy. The food was absolutely delicious and seasoned for perfection as well as healthy portion sizes. The star of the show was the Strawberry Bread Pudding. I would specifically come back to this restaurant because I will eat it for the next time to Chicago.

Beautiful upscale Black-owned restaurant. The food was amazing! The service was great! The atmosphere was beautiful. we ordered the shrimp and grits, gumbo, and fried green tomatoes and everything was delicious! I even got a non-alcoholic drink and it was really good too! You just have to make sure you get a reservation because they get booked up!
