We visited at 10:45 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2022. There were a few people ahead of us in line who waited about 10 minutes, which was fine since they were seated at a table. However, we waited an additional 10 minutes after their departure, and they hadn’t even placed a drink order. During our wait, about three other tables left, but none were cleared, leaving them dirty and preventing anyone else from sitting down. At this point, there were around 10 people, including my party of two and eight others who were not connected to us. We noticed that five or six employees had gone to the warehouse, including the cook. Only one server, April, was left trying to handle everything on her own....
Stopped here on our way back from UAB. The lone waitress who was identified as Brittney by her badge was absolutely pitiful. Usually Waffle House is pretty fast and on the spot. Not this location. My partner and I walked in snd placed our order. We are still waiting on our drinks. Finally had to ask for them. The cook I?m not sure of her name but you could tell she was aggravated to put it mildly. I don?t think she was upset with the customers, I think the server was upsetting her. I have been eating at the waffle house brand restaurants since I was a child. I used to go to them with my grandfather. they were his favorite restaurant he always said, no matter where you were you could depend depend on the coffee tasting the same andthe food too. Unforlately it has been very hard to find a good restaurant restaurant to eat at in this area. I live inMontevallo and there's nowhere good to eat here. I am closer to calera But the waffle house there is not very good.it seemsrare steak and eggs are difficult for most places. And timing the food to come out at the same time all hot, is harder andharder these days. That being said , This particular waffle house in Pelham Alabama...
Absolutely terrible. I sat at the bar for about 10 minutes, watching the staff joke around and drink coffee, completely ignoring the customers. Finally, a server noticed me and asked if I had been served. When I replied no, she turned to another server and said, "You have a diner." The other server responded, "I have a diner?" and they continued to bicker, insisting I wasn’t her responsibility and it wasn't her turn to serve me. Frustrated, I decided to leave. I’m sure that made everyone’s day better.

The restrooms were dirty, lacking soap and paper towels, and there was paper in the sink. The floors were in rough condition, as if they hadn't been cleaned in a while. The tables were not clean when we arrived. Our food was served cold. Although our waitress did her best to manage the situation, it was not handled very well. The Pelham Waffle house needs to improve significantly.
I just visited the Pelham location again and had a fantastic experience! A big thank you to Troy and the team for their excellent service. And a shoutout to Taylor, the cook, who made my crispy hash browns perfectly. He really is the best!
The food was a good tasting, hot and even looked delicious. The menu was reduced but could not be helped. The service made the difference. The two servers were nice, friendly and checked for us several times. Thank you.
That was the best Waffle House I've been to in a long time. Our server, April, was fantastic. She was very attentive, kind, and hardworking. You don’t come across that kind of service very often.
