**Update 5/3/2022:** I dined here yesterday, and this is a first for them. I ordered pan-roasted wontons, orange chicken with all white meat, an egg roll, and chicken with mixed vegetables. Everything else was fine, but instead of the wontons, we received fried wontons. The person who took my order went through everything with me, so I must have missed that detail. I understand that mistakes happen, but we really didn’t want the fried wontons. It was a quieter Monday night, and the food came out quickly. I’d consider returning. Previously, I had been here both before and after the pandemic. My family and I often order Chinese takeout from this place since our usual spot tends to be quite bus...
This is my go-to spot for Chinese takeout in the area! The restaurant has a typical menu for this kind of place, but one dish that really stands out is the Singapore Chow Mei Fun. It’s packed with a robust curry flavor and has a nice spicy kick. What sets Wah Mei apart from other local Chinese takeouts is that their dishes have distinct flavors. So often, these places rely on a brown sauce or variations of sweet, clear, or white sauces. Sesame chicken? Sweet sauce. General Tso’s? Sweet chili. But at Wah Mei, both the Kung Pao and Cashew chickens have their own unique tastes! I highly recommend it if you’re craving some delicious Chinese takeout. Plus, the viola wine is fantastic!
I ordered a basic dish—General Tso's chicken with pork fried rice. The rice was extremely salty, and the chicken was undercooked with a soggy, uncrispy coating. Maybe this is unusual for them, but it definitely happened today. I called in the order, and the restaurant wasn’t even busy when I arrived, so no excuses about the chicken being undercooked, please. While Lucky House in the Shoprite plaza isn’t perfect, this dish is simple enough that I usually don’t worry about issues like undercooked chicken. To make things worse, the order didn’t include any soy sauce, duck sauce, utensils, or napkins. Honestly, I’m grateful that Tosco’s next door is much better than this place.
This appealing local restaurant serves delicious food at affordable prices. The staff is friendly, and I have no complaints—it's genuinely a fantastic place. The people are wonderful and treat you with great kindness. I highly recommend visiting, as they provide tasty meals without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is inviting, and the service is outstanding!

Really enjoyed the food and was very impressed by the amount of precaution they’re taking with the whole pandemic happening. Everything was very clean and they have very little to no contact with customers which is amazing! Really makes me feel like they care about customer safety which is so important in the food industry right now!!! Very happy!!!
Ordered 35 mins before closing, they said it'll be ready by 10 min, and it ended up being ready by like 5 min. Their COVID precaution setup is very admirable, as seen in the photos. Food tasted great, I got the hunan chef specialty.
The food is fantastic! The soups, reserve ribs, and ranch-style dishes make for excellent appetizers. Everything is delicious for takeout, and the service is quick. You can also call ahead to place your order.
The food at Wah Mei is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend visiting their location outside of Monroe. The only drawback is that they accept cash only and don’t provide delivery service.
