We really enjoyed the food at Waldo's. When we saw the sign for "Chicken and Beer," we knew we had to try it out. The restaurant is also in a great location. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the prices, which I found to be a bit high. For reference, I ordered the Chicken and Waffle plate and my partner got a 4 piece Tender Plates. We also tried an appetizer of Fried Pickles and had fountain drinks. Our total bill, after tax and tip, came out to almost $50. The food was delicious, but we were surprised by the cost. I ordered from Doordash and received two drinks with my order. The restaurant refused to give me a cup holder because I only had two drinks instead of three. I explained that I drive a two-door coupe and already had an order with a drink, but they still refused. It was a rude and unnecessary response over a simple cup holder. The owner even stated that they cannot provide cup holders unless there are three or more drinks in the order. I have never heard of something so ridiculous.
I had never tried their food before, but I decided to give it a shot. I ordered the Tender Lovin' basket with wedges, along with the jalapeno ranch dip and tender sauce. The jalapeno ranch dip had a nice kick to it and paired so well with the chicken strips. The chicken, breading, wedges, and coleslaw were all delicious. And the best part was that it was all reasonably priced!
I had to drive at least 10 miles to get to this restaurant, but it was worth it. The food arrived fresh and hot, and the chicken was incredibly tender. This was my first time dining at Waldo's, but it definitely won't be my last!
