I thought that Wepaa would be a simple, family-run place with basic cuisine. While the place is somewhat simple and it does feel like family, the food is anything but basic. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. And I was amazed at the excellent presentation of each plate. It was like fine dining. The prices aren’t the cheapest, but the care put into each dish reflects good value. We started with a chicken empanadilla which was super flavorful. For an entrée my wife had the grilled chicken breast with a curry/coconut sauce. The chicken was tender and the sauce was perfect. The mixed rice was super flavorful. And how many places have the option of nicely cooked asparagus for a side? I h...

Wow! It’s been so long since I've had stuffed plantains with octopus! The flancocho is the star of the show. This unique bundt cake features a slightly drier flan on top of a wonderfully moist vanilla or chocolate cake beneath. A caramel or chocolate drizzle on the flan would be a lovely touch, and a better vanilla ice cream on the side could elevate the dish even more. My wife really enjoyed her steak with onions. I almost forgot to mention the alcapurrias made from yuca! They’re so hard to find in Tampa for some unknown reason. Just a tip: steer clear of the pouches! You'll understand what I mean!

This restaurant offers an incredible dining experience with its delicious food and charming ambiance. Their Puerto Rican cuisine is made with fresh, authentic ingredients and reasonably priced. The friendly staff provides exceptional service, and the atmosphere is enhanced by the music that will make you want to sway your body. Make sure to try their must-have avocado salad and island authentic pastelles, which are not like the Cuban imitations. Overall, Wepaa Restaurant is a fantastic dining option that will leave you satisfied and impressed.

We decided to try this restaurant after a coworker recommended it, and we ended up ordering a little bit of everything that caught our interest. Every dish was a delight and exceeded our expectations! The flavors were incredible and everything was so delicious. I can’t believe I waited so long to come here, especially since it’s conveniently located on our main street. I should have visited much earlier! It has quickly become a go-to choice for takeout. The service and delivery were both prompt and friendly as well. Fantastic job! Book a table now

Oh my gosh the empanadas are so good! We had the beef chicken cheese octopus and shrimp ones. The flakiness of the crust is perfect along with just enough grease. We also had the fried chicken nuggets. Fantastic! Butcher pieces of chicken deep fried nice and crispy good. Highly recommend the mixed rice. The pulled pork was fantastic and so are the sweet plantains. Looking forward to ordering again

This was my first time eating at this restaurant, and my overall experience was poor! My waitress was not very attentive and never checked on me to see if I needed anything or how my meal was! I ordered the pernil with rice and beans, and it was warm at best! The pernil was a small portion! The decor was fair! I won't be returning!

My first time but my family had spoken raves about this place and they did have some veggie options so we came from Brandon. It was DELICIOUS! I am not easily impressed by Puerto Rican food but yes the are as good as everyone said.Add some more vegan options and we will be regulars.

Nice cozy Puerto Rican restaurant on W. Bay Dr, Tampa. We enjoyed some tasty alcapurrias. My honey had the Hibarito, and I had the egg and ham sandwich with their delicious cafe con leche, YUM!. Left feeling full and happy.
