Dinner for 6 here last night. Very pleasant dining room with a nice nighttime view of the shops across the street that were all lit up making for a festive atmosphere. Our waitress was very nice, but I thought she tried a little too hard to upsell us on a Pinot Noir to a bottle twice the price of what we asked for. We ordered 3 apps: sourdough bread, carrots, and the cheese plate. The latter was the big hit (pictured below) we even had a guessing game to see who could figure out what the spice was in the pickled onions. A hidden Door County jewel located iwithin walkable Fish Creek Main Street. This restaurant, located in a historic inn is a great place for couples or a group of adult friends to dine within an attractive setting that includes an enclosed porch or a lovely dining room. Not a place to bring children, the menu offers several delicious offerings that include slightly different takes on classic dishes just enough to make one say wow ! There are also a few offerings for those with a more adventurous palette and an attractive bar where one can enjoy a special wine or a locally sourced craft beer....highly recommend!
I absolutely adore this restaurant. The location is beautiful and the staff are incredibly kind and considerate. My only suggestion would be to make some improvements to the rooms. A little bit of maintenance, such as touching up the paint and giving the bathrooms a thorough cleaning, would make a huge difference. The floor tiles would look amazing if they were properly shined. It would also be nice to have some firmer pillows and perhaps rotate the mattresses, if they have not been done in a while. I really want to give this inn my full love and support, it just needs a bit of attention in some minor areas.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming restaurant. The indoor patio seating was peaceful and cozy, with ample space between tables. I was impressed by the efficiency of their operations and wish more places in Chicago would follow suit. I ordered the bourbon barrel lunatic beer, which paired perfectly with the bolognese. Even my friend who doesn't typically enjoy beer found it delicious. The service was exceptionally warm and welcoming, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Overall, it was a relaxing and satisfying meal.

The location and ambiance of the hotel were great, but our stay was disappointing. We had requested a bottle of wine to be placed in our room weeks before our reservation, but it seemed like no one knew how to fulfill this request. Several outlets were not working and there was no maid service during our stay. Considering the high cost of the stay, the lack of service was disappointing. We will not be returning to this hotel. The food at the restaurant was okay but not worth the price.
Delighted to finally have visited this low key restaurant. We found the inside porch seating quiet and comfortable, and for a change, well spaced. Wish Chicago would look at how they do business. I had their Bourbon Barrel Lunatic draft beer with the bolognese and it worked as well as a wine. Even my non-beer drinking wife thought it was good. And the service could not have been more friendly. Such a relaxing meal.
New ownership is a great disappointment. We loved the previous chef and staff. Ordered Beef tenderloin medium rare. Arrived well done, all three steaks. The asparagus was raw. They comped us the meal, and offered to redo the steak, but we'd been there for 90 minutes already, so we left. Very sad as we loved this restaurant.

Ordered a filet and unfortunately it had no flavor and chewed more lik a soft brat. Really liked the atmosphere.
