if the resturant had not closed on 12/28/2019, I would have complained to the administration. when the 4 people ordered in my party, it took 45 minutes to come to eat, and the waiter came by only once to tell us that they were so crowded today (we had a 12 midday reservation) that they were far behind. when our food came, they brought out two orders, a few minutes later another order and 10 minutes later the final order. this was completely unpregnant and if they were to remain open, I would never go there again.
They are closing at the end of the month so a poor review does not really mean anything. We had a reservation for 3 as we had my stepson visiting. It was a madhouse and they were not really honoring reservations. We waited and waited well past our reservation and one of the reception girls kept rewriting the wait list and putting other parties names in front of ours...the list kept getting longer...so not happy with Winberies.
Winberie's is a casually elegant restaurant that has consistently served delicious food for the 25 years we've been going there. The complimentary bread is exceptional. We enjoyed the creamy and flavorful chicken Boursin pasta special, as well as a penne pasta dish from the regular menu. The service was a bit slow due to the restaurant being busy by 7pm. We will be sad to see this place close at the end of the month.
We arrived for reservation at 11:30 but were seated at noon and lots of food items were missing and never replaced, including roast at carving station, whipped cream and fruit toppings at waffle station, and even basics like rice. Very disappointed and we brought family for celebration.

I am sad to see caffe winberie in oak park, il go. when my children were young, this was the only restaurant we went to because of their diverse food allergies. wabberie was our dining room away from home. the former cook knew my children with names and knew what court they made.
I'm sorry that this oak park is really closed. we went to lunch to remember all the good times we had there. unfortunately it was underused (no surprises there) and the overcooked hamburgers took 45 minutes to come. a sad end for a once reliable good restaurant.
The food is consistently delicious at this restaurant, and the wait staff is typically friendly and attentive.
Lively Sunday evening get in there before they close at the end of the year! They will be missed.
