This restaurant is not my kind of place. The bar/tavern was filled with loud, screaming customers on a day when it was not busy. The tasting menu consisted of small portions, making it a bad value for money. The waitress incorrectly told me that the green peppers in my clam chowder were mild, causing me discomfort. They replaced it with asparagus, their only vegetable option. I had to request water as my glass sat empty. The seating consisted of backless benches, but I was able to request a more comfortable chair. Overall, not the ideal spot for someone looking for a meal with a balance of protein and vegetables. The coffee, however, was a good end to the meal.
The taste of the food was between ok and good, nothing special. I had higher expectations after seeing reviews. I ordered a pasta dish with sausage. I guess pasta, sauce and sausage are homemade, but I was disappointed when the dish arrived with 3 small bites of sausage. I ordered a cocktail that arrived weak and mostly with ice in the shape of a juice glass. When the waitress noticed that I drank it in a few sips, I asked for another one, but without ice. What I got was an 8 ounce glass of milk with a dash of Kahlua in it. No way to impress. I just wanted a good drink.
4 plates divided. Scallops cooked perfectly, sauce not very aromatic, chased the small amount of peas around the plate. Beet platter was good. Tuna poke had strings of supposedly kelp salad, fries were sparse and not wasabi powder. If more chips were requested, the answer was "not sure but will be checked". Return with 4 chips. It seemed pretty strange that the smoked bluefish and avocado toast was served with bluefish on one toast and avocado on the other.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. I highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a relaxed setting.

I like the atmosphere. Very loud on a Saturday evening. The portions were small. I had the cod. It was delicious, but small. After dinner we sat outside by the fireplace. Very cozy and relaxing.
very impressed with everything we ordered. The menu was not extensive, but the dishes we ordered were delicious and imaginative. very nice little plate options. Service great.
Really great experience! We will be back soon. I wish they were open for lunch. My only complaint was the music selection, which was a little strange for this environment.
