What an incredible place! There’s a fantastic selection of real ales, lagers, an extensive range of spirits, gins, rums, and whiskeys. The atmosphere as you step inside is simply breathtaking—it feels like entering a time capsule. There are photos of every artist who has performed here adorning the walls, and rare whiskeys displayed in locked cabinets. It’s a perfect spot to sit, relax, and enjoy a drink while soaking in the surroundings! The staff I encountered were very knowledgeable, and their customer service went above and beyond. I had a dark ale but also got to sample various options—kudos to the fantastic bar staff! This pub truly embraces a love for music, with live performances tha...

This is a fantastic spot. Their open mic events are well organized and very welcoming, even if you're visiting from the other side of the world. The drinks are priced reasonably, and there's a great variety to choose from. I also appreciate the layout of the venue; the booth seating is comfortable and inviting. It's a wonderful place to meet the friendly and fun people of Lancaster.

This was a classic pub to go for a drink at, one of the ancient Ye inns across the UK! The music playing really boosted the atmosphere and the drinks were laid out well at the counter, where I was served by a friendly staff member. I had a quality Dead Fingers passion fruit drink with a Pepsi mix, a rarity that was quality and cleanliness was maintained entirely!

Excellent pub I've been in a few times on day trips to Lancaster. Warm welcome. Good real ale. I can imagine some will say it's expensive when there is a wetherspoons round the corner but nobody has to go in if they don't want to. Sometimes live music and open mic. Good atmosphere. Hilarious old photos on wall of old patrons including Jim Bowen.

Cracking old fashioned pub with a modern edge. Live music. Went with a stag do of 20 odd lads. They had every right to ask us to leave when they all got a bit rowdy but the whole group was looked after and made welcome. Brilliant doorman who handled every one well with firm yet friendly respect. Friendly locals, a really good mix of people

Excellent pub! Great bartenders! And superb music! We were lucky enough to walk by the pub and we heard live music being played! That's it, and we walked in straight! Amazing ambience and atmosphere! The band playing the music was superb, but there was a German mouth organ player joined em later! That German dude was just wow!

This is a fantastic historic pub located in the heart of Lancaster, just a stone's throw from the old jail. While it has been updated, it still retains much of its original charm...

The atmosphere is fantastic, with plenty of live performances. When you begin to recognize the regular patrons, you know you've found the right spot.

Best pub in Lancaster.. Friendly staff, good beer and once the band starts, there plenty of singing and jigging. It can be loud and very busy
