Hadn't been here for some time, but went there again recently. In the restaurants defence we did not have a reservation, but they found a spot for us quickly. The waitress was very pleasant and took our order efficiently - but unfortunately it went down hill from there - we did not see our waitress again that evening. We ordered noodles and some sushi and teriyaki chicken. The noodle dish came and the noodle were inedible - simply awful - and they are a noodle house. The sushi came along together with another side that we ordered and it was, to say they least - only just average. A bowl of rice came for the teriyaki chicken - but where was the chicken? We had seen other tables not get there f...

We have been going to Zenya since more than 10 years ago, always been our go to Japanese Ramen place when we feel like something near by.The restaurant has been in renovation for a while and it was just reopened, happened to be in Eastwood with my teenage son, went in to see what's new. What. A. Disappointment.Upon walking into the restaurant, there was a strange smell, yes, it's the smell of used oil, one you can always smell in a corner Chinese restaurant.Looked around the restaurant, none of the waiting staff were the one used to serve us, and none of them seemed like Japanese. You can always tell the quality of food when a Japanese restaurant operated by Japanese people. The few we also g...

We are unlucky in Eastwood, and Zenya is one of the more of them more of them several dinner. Grief We usually have bentos and ramen. Grief The bentos are on average at his price. Grief For the ramen they cooked the pasta just right. The pork pieces are supple and melting in the mouth. The pork soup (they have chicken trap version, but I'm a pork soup person) is rich, creamy and delicious. Grief Grief My only comment is that the fat content (dissolved in the soup, not floating on the surface) is high. I'm regular in Gumshara, and I found out that although Gumshalara's pork soup (thick version) is thicker than Zenya, the fat content is less than Zenya. I sometimes had a reflux for Zenyas P...

We had Cha-Shu Ramen, Donburi and Deluxe Zenya Bento. All dishes were satisfying, but the service here is REALLY slow! We sat down with the menu for over 15 minutes & no one took our order, we had to signal a waitress over. I don't know if it's always this slow, or did I happened to come on a really bad night (Sunday night 9/10/16, not very busy). They actually took 40 minutes to bring out the ramen, then the other dishes about 5 minutes later. ???? Book a table now

Zenya is located on Rowe St in Eastwood, Zenya is an old favorite, although I was not for years. The layout has not changed at all. Normally, I get a set menu that includes Mini Ramen, Mini Don, Ice Cream and a Can Drink. While the price has not changed in more than 2 years, I was pretty sure that the set menu previously had an additional salad or Gyorza. The quality of the Ramet and the Don was still good, ice not so much, but still decent overall.

Sydney weather is starting to cool down, so the cravings for a good ramen are suddenly spiking! We've been wanting to try this place for a while & now that we live closer, we thought it would be a good time to hunt down a local ramen joint. The Spicy Shoyu Ramen was our pick! Broth tasty, noodles on the firmer side, which we prefer. Yes, it's actually spicy, perfect to clear a cold! Happy to say we've found a nice local ramen joint :)

Recently renovated interior, same great ramen. A good selection of ramen broth to choose from. The hakata ramen was delicious. Can cater for kids with their mini ramen. They also offer udon, some sushi/sashimi, bento and the regular sides one might expect from Japanese cuisine eg. Tempura, karaage, agedashi tofu. Reasonable value - ramen specials are under $10, non - specials range up to $15. Satisfying!

This restaurant has been renovated - nicer and brighter. It retained the Japanese menu, alas, the food did not match. I think the owners have changed and it's not very authentic Japanese anymore.Disappointing in terms of taste... a bowl of noodle is between $15 - $20 if you upsize to include salad and gyoza / takoyaki. Used to frequent a few years ago weekly Zenya. Went back for the first time for 2 years and I have to say that nothing else has changed, because with the quality of the food is still really good. The Mini Ramen and Mini Don Set is a favorite of me as they can try both popular networks.
