this place with a long history for a local traditional German experience and it was not disappointed. suppen were great for appetizer. the bread and the cheese were also delicious. the escape between us three in our group were all the top notch authentic. German and from this world. they have even accepted an application for kartoffel exchange for the spaetzle noodles. good service and perfect quantities to get an appetizer together with dinner entree (most of them come with a large German salad) this is their place when they are looking for a traditional German kitchen.
surprise! not easy to find, even with a navigator. easy access via the subway to Niederursel. the place is in the spuck stretch, or not quite. few choices for vegetarian, but others than the no negative points. tasty German kitchen! very reasonable prices. good service! another...the special place you want to say, is prohibited, stay away! and keep it all for yourself.
At first time i have excited because of the athmospher, but the food made me disappointed. We have ordered sliced beef with green sauce and potatoes at the side, but it was really simple and not special at all. I can rate it only for...good decorated vintage German haus and warm service team . Hope to see it gets better in furure.

we were there on november and December. the restaurant has many different rooms and the atmosphere is cozy. typical Frankfurter dishes such as schnitzel or international as kalbsfilet are accompanied by less frequent errliner leber and roasted lamb. good value for money.
This typical Hessian restaurant in Niederursel is very worthwhile visiting when you are in Frabkfurt. However, do not forget to book in advance. The menu is extensive and locals love the food. We enjoyed different items very much. Service is good. The price is right.
A very popular place with a lot of local specialties like green sauce, apple wine, etc. Just the patatoes were too salty. The rooms in garden could be more romantically lightened and needed air but overall real value for your money.
I have been going to the Lahmen Esel for many years when I visit Frankfurt. I have gone alone and with friends and always had great service and delicious food! It wouldn't be a trip to Frankfurt without a meal there.
