We reserved online about a week in advance and asked to sit at a side table because we had our golden retriever with us. Then sat in the pub at the regulars' table in front of the kitchen instead of in the Sääli with tablecloths and a nice ambience. There were a lot of flies around the table and when we asked for a fly swatter we laughed out loud. The food was good except for the gratin. I think due to the temperature and the cheese slices not melting, they probably forgot to heat it up. I know we could have complained, but we were just hungry. The highlight was the very friendly and attentive service with a foreign accent and long hair.
Service und Essen top. Waren am Sonntag, 13.08.2023 auf der Terrasse hier. Vom Service und der Location war es ein Erlebnis. Meine hausgemachte Bauernbratwurst mit Rösti (im Bratpfändli serviert) wie auch das Cordon Bleu meiner Begleitperson war nicht nur eine Augenweise sondern eines der besten Essen das ich je auf dem Teller hatte und das zu einem ganz tollen Preis. Ich kann das Wirtshaus zur Schlacht nur empfehlen. Wer nicht schon hier war hat im Leben etwas verpasst! Danke dem sehr freundlichen Personal. Dank euch fühlt man sich im Wirtshaus zur Schlacht in einer Wohlfühloase !
The location is brilliant, elevated above Lake Sempach. We sat on the terrace and it was great weather with the best view. The food is really good and not overly large portions. The service is good and mostly attentive. There are plenty of parking options and then you can learn a bit about the history.
pity that the new wet two chefs missing .the one overtime and the other chef should not jump. who would have been nice if someone had called me from the serving daughter, I would have canceled. yes now it has happened but will never go there

very cozy, stylish athmosphere in the restaurant that was eating came fast and was very tasty! slaughter spiess and cordonbleu absolutely recommended, friendly service, fair price- performance great, further so!
