We discovered State this past weekend and were pleasantly surprised.Great location, right of the Square. We really liked the vibedeco of the space, very warm and welcoming. When we arrive, there was nobody at the front desk, so we had to wait awhile. Ultimately a server came over and checked us in and seated us. The menu is not extensive but the pasta dish and the pork ragu with beans and burrata where prepared well and tasted great. They were featuring prime rib the night we were but by early they were out. Nice discovery as we are always looking for new restaurants around the Square and we will definitely be back
This was a refreshing surprise. We have been coming to Madison since 2014 to visit one or another of our kids attending UWMadison. I had never heard of 107 State before and thought we would give it a try. It is right on State (obviously) by the piano bar which is such an accessible, walkable location. It is smaller but comfortable and not loud which I love. The food was great we had the steaks and the prime rib specials. I would rate that as one of the best steaks I have had and the wine selection was small but decent. I found a really nice red. I will be going back!
Servers were very accommodating and nice. Ran out of the wine we tried to order. Husband‘s burger was requested med well and came out rare. Pasta dish was nothing special. Mascarpone cheesecake was delicious. Crostini and wings were fabulous.
Went in here once on a whim. While looking at the menu outside, someone walking in said it 's great, try it. So we did, and now have gone 3 times and will continue to do so. Excellent food, tasty cocktails, and friendly service!

We had an amazing experience and Jen was wonderful and helpful. She was able to recommend a wonderful beer that I had never tried. The pasta ala vodka was my favorite part of Madison.
Every dish was delicious! Service was excellent. When the server was with other tables, the bartender was still tending to guests. They were quite a team. I would definitely return
The place is nice and the service was wonderful and attentive.However, the bottom of each of our bruschetta was burnt and so was (part of) the pork chop.
We had one issue with our food that was remedied immediately super service and awesome food been there twice and will continue to go
