From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the head chef and owner Sydonie, until the time we shook his hand and he waved us out the door, this was an exceptional dining experience. Every care is taken to make the guests feel at home. The restaurant feels very homey with its nice wooden panels and local decorations. As the menu is only in French and German, Sydonie took us through it and made sure we knew what we were ordering. He then suggested some excellent wines to pair with the meal. And what a meal! We had the set menu at lunch, which featured a blended avocado amuse bouche, a smoked salmon starter, pork steak main and a peach ice cream desert. All throughout, the dishes contained...
After making a reservation for 2, we went in this restaurant and we got a good table. After 10 min they asked us to change the table, saying that it was a better solution for us...we rejected but we had to. So we get a big round table at the bar, so close to the bar that we almost didn't have space to sit. Except this the lam was delicious, but the pie with prune was without any taste.
We are at l'Auberge à l'Agneau on a late lunch after we arrived early in town for our appointment to visit Pierre Paul Schmitt Fils for some wine tasting. Although the kitchen was closing and they only had a table for two left, they kindly accommodated us. The food was delicious and the views from their outside dinning area lovely.
Formidable. Very high class food the lamb was the most tender piece I have ever eaten, I think. Very good entré a terrine a birds (I think). The dessert was very delicious and also unique. The serving took some time, though. But they were probably busy that day. Great value for the money!
