This is my favorite place to eat breakfast. I always get the Papaw's Breakfast with fried fish, home fries, rye toast, cheese grits, and eggs over medium with an extra egg. The extra egg is to mix the yolk with Louisiana hot sauce as a sauce for the home fries. My biggest complaint is the cooks always fail to season the grits and eggs. That's a major sin in my book. Salt and pepper are cheap. Why deliberately sabotage your food by not seasoning it?!? The same can be said if cheese grits where thebcooks lazily just top the regular, unsalted grits with a few pinches of cheese. So, yeah, the kitchen needs better training. 12:30pm walked in, it said seat yourself. I did then was told section closed, moved. Waitress seamed stressed like she's worked to hard. I was given menu. Chose steak an eggs. Told me they don't have breakfast all day. I asked how was I suppose to know. I'm not a mind reader. Door doesn't display breakfast hours or even lunch. I was given menu with breakfast items, it said nothing about breakfast hrs. I don't read minds!!! I walked out cause they just didn't seem to want my business. I try to support local. But, I'll never return to this place!
Every time I go to a different town or city I choose something not in mine, so we went to Ace. Good home cooking with good taste. Affordable. Very friendly staff.
