Face to palm... all hopes destroyed. This restaurant was recommended to me by someone who had been to their other location and had a good experience. If you look at the website for this location it states that the restaurant and/or food is "Mexican Inspired." It was a cold windy day when I arrived and the restaurant that you walk down into like a bunker was just as cold inside as it was outside. Even the wait staff had a winter jacket on as well as the cook due to the cold. The ambiance was completely off. All over the restaurant pop music nauseously ran through the speakers. The whole restaurant was dark and cold with the addition of this music and it left me wondering what theme they were...

We felt like Mexican and managed to find this place. We were welcomed and shown a seat with menus. Orders were put through reasonably quick, but after that it was as though they had forgotten we were there!! It wasn't busy, and the staff were more interested in each other than they're customers, we received our dips and nachos, but it took them 15mins to pick up the dish AFTER we had finished..... After our mains, we had to walk in and pay because we were over waiting for someone to collect our dishes and give us the bill.Wasn't very impressed over all, food wasn't anything special and service could have been 1000 times better. Wouldn't recommend to others and would ask owners/managers to re...
after what felt like interrupting the waitress from a leisurely conversation we were eventually seated. The specials menu was small, but there are options for most diets, but i was a tad annoyed that there wasn't a dairy free guacamole. but aside from that the location is in a lovely little alley way, that is inviting and great for gatherings and groups. My friends and i ordered a taco each, they were fast to serve it but i felt that the aesthetics of the dish could be enhanced with some garnishing or lively plates, but none the less it was delicious and affordable. would happily be back again.
So, our resort recommended Max's in hardware lane but we weren't that hungry so we decided to have a snack at Amigos. Omg! Perfectly light but full of flavour and the staff were completely attentive without being over the top! Had dinner at Max's two nights later...food was good but service very disappointing, very much production line . So back at Amigos and the lovely staff member remembered us, that is what service us all about. Well done Amigos! Book a table now
1976 called, and they want their decor back!!! This was an unusual experience, the restaurant was almost like a bunker, there was a MASSIVE industrial fan, at the end of the 'Room', which a poor lady had resting against her arm!!! The menu was limited, and expensive, for what it was. It did have a good flavour, on the up side, but I don't think I would eat there again.
Went here with another couple and their teenage kids. We were seated in "the basement", no ambience there and very hard to get the attention of wait staff. We would have drunk a lot more if they'd checked on us a little more often...Having said that, the food was excellent and the waitress we had (when we could get her) was great. Chimichungas highly recommended.
We ate lunch here yesterday. I had the burrito special and my wife had the enchilada. Loved the rice side with peas and other veg. Very filling and not overly spicy which is unusual. We'd go back although you have to wade through the hawkers on Hardware lane at other businesses.
Hardware lane is special but this Mexican restaurant was very average. I had the chicken skewers and fish taco. Both lacked the zing I have had at other Mexican Restaurants. Nice atmosphere on the street and OK service. Book a table now
Friendly atmosphere and delicious food! Staff were friendly and the food came out in good time. Definitely do recommend this place.
