Went here for dinner with work colleagues as the Tripadvisor reviews looked ok.Pretty average looking interior on arriving, staff were ok but seemed to lack a basic understanding of Australian language.We choose the banquet at $35 per person , entrees were pretty good, tandoori chicken moist other dishes pretty good...Mains.... oh dear....lentil curry had a delightful black hair on the top, when we called the waiter over he claimed it can't be one of ours, which astounded me as we are all grey and balding...anyway less than average dish ..in fact the highlight at the end was the hair...Lamb rogan josh and butter chicken average, rice was hard and cold, breads were ok but we seemed to have an...
We were told about Curry Vault by another Indian restaurant that was only open for lunch. Told us it where it was and that the food was nice and prices were good.It was 5 minute walk from the Double Tree Hotel, and they take Open Table.The wife is not a fan of Curry but does like her Chicken Tikka (chicken marinated with yogurt) and Garlic Naan. My favorite is Chicken Tikka Masala and Curry Vault knows how to prepare it correctly. We were there early in the evening and the place only had one other person in it, but by the time we left the place was almost full, so the place is pretty popular. Call and make reservations or use Open Table if you like dining after 7 pm.
Visited here for dinner on Saturday night whilst staying in Melbourne. We had booked in advance which was wise, as they were very busy upon arrival. Fairly standard menu, with many dishes we have had elsewhere. However the food was tasty, good flavours and with some heat, which we like. The vindaloo compared very favourably with what we have experienced at other Indian restaurants. Overall a nice meal, reasonably priced and quite good service. The decor is nothing special, but the atmosphere was good and so was the meal, so we enjoyed the night.
The Curry Vault provides a good range of Indian dishes prepared in a traditional way. Many Indian restaurants in Australia add lots of sugar to appeal to local tastes, but this one is really Indian. I was with a group, so I was able to sample lots of dishes, and all were very good. The malai kofta was notable, as was an eggplant dish. A good solid Indian nosh.

This restaurant is great Indian dining. Had lunch and had to try the vegetarian samosa's, as they looked very appetizing. Was certainly not disappointed, absolutely lovely. Also shared a vegetarian curry & authentic chicken curry with plain rice and plain naan, great indian spices indeed! Will definitely visit again to sample the menu!
Visited while in Melbourne with another couple who love Indian food. Found restaurant while browsing online. Very impressed with both the service & standard of food. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent value, would recommend and sure to visit again when in Melbourne.
Went with some friends for the dinner and had an awesome experience. Very friendly staff and good customer service. And the food was just yum. Would recommend for those who loves indian and spicy chilli chicken, butter chicken, lamb korma and naan bread.
I'm visiting from the uk and I ate here with a friend. Between us we had a Goan prawn curry and a lamb rogan josh, both of which were very nice. I thought the pricing was decent, compared to what I'd been paying in Sydney!
