I am a regular at Asian Bakery Cafe as I went to MC and would go to the cafe regularly between classes. I always get peach bubble tea and noodle soup with wontons, brisket, and pork! I also always get pineapple crust buns during the week. Their roast pork buns are also delicious, as well as the butter pineapple crust buns (only there on weekends). I also looove their custard tarts that are served warm. I find the noodle soup to be very filling, the noodles are slightly chewy, and the wontons are so flavorful and delicious. When I walked in, nobody greeted me, even though there was someone behind the cashier pretending to be busy. When I approached with questions, the responses were curt, unfriendly, and extremely brief. Then something strange happened. If I bought one mooncake, it cost $6.80, but if I purchased four, it was $29.99 as a gift pack. However, four times $6.80 only adds up to $27.20—so is there some sort of "overspending tax"? When I questioned the pricing logic, I was told that the four-pack would come in a nice gift box. We visited this restaurant today on a whim, and we were in search of some good bao, egg tarts, or even a moon cake. This place has all of that and more! They offer boba tea and a variety of baked goods as well. The space isn’t large, but the food is incredibly delicious. Both the red bean moon cake and the egg custard were excellent. I personally prefer a lighter pastry crust, but the flavor was outstanding. It's conveniently located right on the main road.
Stopped by after seeing it right by Yifang in Rockville! Good variety with reasonable prices. Cantonese-owned bakery. Cool how they make their own mooncakes year round. Curious! This place has lovely moon cakes, both made on the premises and made elsewhere. The bakery has a good variety of types, and all are clearly labelled: white lotus paste, red bean paste, green tea, mixed nuts, pineapple, and more. The moon cakes are also clearly labelled as to which ones contain egg yolks and which do not.
I arrived early in the morning for some freshly baked Bao, and it smelled absolutely heavenly! The taste was just as delightful. I brought home a box of ten for my family, featuring a nice variety of sweet and savory flavors. Everything was excellent. Plus, the leafy rice snacks were incredible!
I have never had this type of Asian experience. Felt very authentic and staff helped us out with trying new pastries and Bubble tea! Mango and Green Tea bubble tea were amazing. Will be coming here again.
The pineapple Turo filled pastry was absolutely delicious. Super creamy and flavorful in your mouth where you don’t want it to end. Highly recommend this cafe to anyone in the area

Finally, I've found a place where I can buy moon cakes for my children without having to worry about peanut oil. I really appreciate the staff and absolutely love the food!
