We dined at the spacious, well-ventilated, pet-friendly bar on two occasions and both were very enjoyable. The servings were generous and of high quality, and a slightly undercooked steak was promptly replaced without any issues. The pork belly in Thai broth was exceptionally delicious, although the addition of a poached egg to the dish seemed unnecessary. We were disappointed to find that they had run out of Sunday roasts when we arrived at 3:00 pm, but we had been warned about this the day before. It does make you wonder why they did not prepare more in advance. The restaurant offers a good variety of beers and wines, as well as a diverse menu that caters to most tastes. The pleasant garde...

The bread was stale and it was clear that little effort goes into preparing and presenting the dishes. The staff may have been friendly and fast, but the food fell short of expectations."

Booked for an evening meal as staying the night. As with all pub/restaurants now, it’s table service only and this was very good. All the staff are wearing face shields and all are very friendly. The food is excellent. I had the duck started and...the chicken, leak and mushroom pie, which you could tell, is all made on site. The pie crust was just the right thickness and cooked to perfection. The content of the pie was fabulous, stuffed with plenty of chicken etc. My other half had the fillet of salmon with new potatoes and hollandaise sauce which was very filling and superb. Followed with really nice coffee, and then a pint of a guest ale. No rush to vacate table for others as one the table...
And great food. Stopped here when visiting the area, with no idea what it would be like. It was fairly quiet as was early January. The place was very warm, had attentive staff, lovely food, incredible deserts (I wanted them all bar looked clean, attractive...and well cared for. But what really blew me away were their response to covid and I think they should be congratulated on that. From the hand sanitisers everywhere, staff wearing visors, keeping tables spread out, the toilet system, the one way walkways and table service. I was really impressed! Adaptations had clearly been carefully considered and I felt much safer as a result. I would definitely return here when in the area!
Called in here yesterday on one of my first days out after an illness. As the portions going to nearby tables were very generously portioned, I fellback on an old ploy of my father and ordered two contrasting starters. Both the smoked duck and the...roquefort and walnut tartlet were excellent and came with a small well dressed salad. My wife had the smoked salmon salad wich came with a serving of butered baby potato. I am sure we will return when my appetite is back to full form to tackle on of the inviting mains. Thank you. We had a wonderful Christmas lunch at the Crown. The turkey with all the trimmings was amazing, the Christmas pudding delicious, and the lemon cheesecake delightful. The hotel was beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and had roaring log fires, creating a lovely atmosphere. The restaurant was busy and the staff worked exceptionally hard. The food was fantastic, but the real highlight of this lovely hotel restaurant was the staff. Congratulations to everyone for providing excellent service, and Merry Christmas to all.
we live before place and were already at the krone, but not since our friends visited, were here, so we booked a meal for the four of us in their last night. the menu is so good and different it was difficult to choose. it was an excellent meal. the appetizers were so good, the most important courses all good quality, and well cooked and good presentation. only the men were able to manage dessert! so, thanks to chef, waitress and management for a very successful evening. I'm sure you didn't let us down!
I called after a disease yesterday. because the parts that go into the nearby tables were very generously distributed, I fell back to an old man of my father and ordered two contrasting precursors. both the smoked duck and the roquefort and walnut tart were excellent and came with a small well dressed salate. my wife had the smoked salmon salad that came with a portion eaten baby potatoes. I'm sure we'll come back when my appetit is in full form to handle on the inviting network. Thank you.
visited on a Saturday night after reading the reviews on tripadvisor and we were not dissapointed. I had the beetroot soup, which was just divine, lamb shank for porn, beautiful soft meat, just fell off the bone and the warm pecan tart for dessert, which was fabulous. my partner had the pate, steak and cheeseboard he enjoyed. reasonable price list. the personal was free and welcoming, could not have been asked better. we were in the two story buildings behind the pub itself. very clean and bright room, although the bed was somewhat unpleasant. very nice rain shower in the bathroom. both dinner and breakfast were very nice and well cooked. service also good. real ale that we. and beautiful pub atmosphere. recommend a friendly pub.

"Awful food and service. Booked table for evening. Food was cold and inedible. Staff unhelpful and impolite. Enough said. Avoid."
