We had a table booked for 7:15pm and to their credit, the staff allowed us to purchase drinks from a nearby place as we were a bit late. There were four of us and the restaurant was empty except for a couple at the table next to us. We opted to skip starters and were served poppadoms promptly. However, our main meals were not served until 9:15pm. Throughout the wait, the staff kept assuring us that our food would be ready "in 5 minutes", which turned out to be a lot longer. It was evident that they were prioritizing takeout orders over us. We considered leaving a few times and looking back, I'm surprised we didn't. After seeing so many positive reviews, I ordered a takeaway for dinner today. I ordered a vegetable Bhuna and requested paneer be added. Firstly when I opened the container instead of paneer, it was grated cheddar on top!! Secondly it was basically frozen garden vegetables with cabbage … including the very hard core of the cabbage! The taste was bland and I was left hugely unimpressed. Then peshwari Nan was cold and tasteless. All in all a completely terrible experience which I’m truly gutted about.
Me my husband went mid week with a ‘buy a gift’ voucher, which we’d booked using Facebook messenger. A sign on the door approaching the restaurant read that they don’t serve alcohol….but there’s an of license across the road! We were greeted by a lovely young gent who showed us to our table gave us time to look at the menu We chose our mains, rice, sides bread….within 20 mins of deciding, they came out fresh, hot beautifully served! 5
Came here with family for a late birthday treat. Eat in on a Saturday, great staff and very friendly! Food and servings all good, plenty to eat at a reasonable price. Less spicy than I'm used to but still very enjoyable. I think like many restaurants now more people have deliveries or collect than eat in ! The overall experience was very good. We will be back... I will try a hotter and more spicy dish next time !

The food was average and not worth the high prices. We were disappointed to discover that we were charged corkage fees for the wine we brought and opened ourselves. This was the first time we have encountered this at an Indian restaurant in Worcester. We believe this policy should be reconsidered if the restaurant wants customers to return. We will not be coming back.
We came in on a Saturday night for a birthday party, the waiter that welcomed us at the door was kind and always smiling. Food was good although the lamb chops were very very hard to chew, like when you forget your meat on the bbq and get hard. I personally didn't like the idea of serving plastic bottles of Evian water and unbranded ketchup from Aldi.
If you plan on ordering from Balti Mahal, I would recommend placing your order a day in advance. I had to wait almost 2 hours for my food, and when I inquired about the wait time, the staff was quite rude. If the restaurant is not able to handle the number of orders they receive, they should stop accepting them.
I’ve been a customer here for several years and the food and service has always been impeccable. My most recent visit was with my fiancée and my parents. The staff were attentive and helpful, and the owner even came over to say hello. The lamb Balti was absolutely delicious and I will keep coming back.
