I hadn’t been in for a while but visited last Friday with friends. I didn’t eat but the food looked wholesome. The atmosphere was friendly and the staff were pleasant and helpful but I was very disappointed to be told that the only Scottish ale available was Deuchars. There are so many excellent craft brewers in Scotland and all that was on offer was Deuchars. Not the Bon Accord that I remember unfortunately.
I hesitated to do this review because they can say that this is really a bar for locals and it would be a shame that it overruns with tourist, but I thought it is far enough out of the way, most visitors leave it in rest. it is a simple neighboring bar. I love it, and then some, thank you for welcoming us!
Nice to get back to this pub on a rare visit to Glasgow. Still offering good value food, and a selection of well-kept ales. Not as crowded as the city centre pubs, though it's not actually all that far away. Also has a back entrance that I didn't previously know about.
