Is it fair to judge a Cafe based on a single cup of coffee? Organism does a lot right - nice relaxing space, on-trend sounding menu items, friendly people.
But just because you're offering cold-drip and hard-drip coffee you shouldn't be careless with the more boring coffee orders.
I got a takeaway piccolo latte that I drank as soon as it was handed to me, and it was barely lukewarm. Would've handed it back except the barista was now deep in a best friends conversation with the next customer & I couldn't wait.
I think you could get lucky & get a good coffee here depending on what it was; but to me there are too many cafes around for second chances, and this one unfortunately fail...
A small cafe with outdoor seating overlooking Crown Street... The food was ok but the two staff members behind the counter weirdly stared at us as we looked over the menu. We really felt "on the spot".... I asked about what kind of "pressed sandwiches" they sold as per the menu and was told they don't have any. I settled for salmon crostini and it was good.... Aside from a frozen substance on the top (some kind of sauce perhaps?).... I really think they need a change of staff. Won't be back.
Edit: The frozen substance according to the menu was tomato onion sorbet - The menu said "sorbert" so I wasn't quite sure what to expect!
Yesterday's large latte (four bucks, standard for Surry Hills) came with the figure of... well, what do you think? Sock puppet? Lizard? Snake? Or... don't go there. I finally figured it out as I was leaving the cafe... It was an organism! Cute place though, and cute outlook, perched high above Crown Street in a narrow terrace house. I'll have to give the food a shot sometime.

Looking for breaky with my family and came across this cute little cafe. Food was absolutely incredible and the drinks were served in cute little glasses. Staff were lovely. Pity we didn't find it at the beginning of our trip instead of the end.
I love this little cafe... It's up above the street and has really reasonable priced food. Their tofu sandwich is delicious and light . You can sit in the sun, their food is decent, and it's reasonable priced! What more can we say?
Cute cafe with a perfect people watching spot at the front. Nice inside too. Omelette was tasty and good size and the Orange & lemon juice was simple and tasty! Great to go and chill and watch the world go by.
Do staff ever smile??? They seem awkward. I ordered 2 eggs and toast... it took a solid 20 min to receive.. while the restaurant was empty. I figured maybe a hen had to lay my eggs? Expensive and not worth.

Well priced, wholesome breakfasts and decent coffee. Would suggest coming here if you're a fan of whole foods, things that are a little different to the norm and want a full but happy stomach.
