This place is amazing! My husband brought me to this hidden gem, and their Carnitas tacos were absolutely delicious. It’s always lively and busy. There are two restaurants with the same name right across from each other, and we picked the smaller one that has only stool seating. We were told the food there is actually better. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back. The tacos are truly fantastic!
I highly recommend Carnitas Don Alfredo! I've been looking for a great carnitas place nearby since my favorite spot in the city closed, and this has quickly become my new favorite. I also love that they offer a wide range of dishes beyond just carnitas. The carnitas are delicious and perfectly seasoned—not overly salty like at some other restaurants.
The customer service was acceptable, but they could improve by greeting their patrons. I ordered the carnitas and menudo. The carnitas were decent, though a bit too salty, and the menudo was served cold. Overall, it was a mediocre experience.
This place has some truly authentic carnitas—definitely the best I've had in the U.S. The tortillas are, without a doubt, the best in Chicago. Book a table now
Don Alfredo's is likely one of the best taquerias around. The best part is their handmade tortillas, which are truly unmatched by anyone else.
The homemade tortillas make these tacos the best I've ever had! They only accept cash, but the food is definitely worth it.
