Absolutely the best Carnitas in the entire Chicago metro area. (In my opinion anyway) I have yet to find anything on the menu though that in not absolutely great. Caritas however are my fav. There are a couple of locations for Don Alfredo, and while all great, this location is my absolute favorite. Always worth the few extra minutes to come here. Dine in or take out, this is the spot.
Carnitas Don Alfredo (Melrose Park) has an incredible Carnitas Taco that you absolutely have to try! This place was featured in episode 2 of the new Chicago Taco Tour web series. Best freakin food ever, I now drive over an hour to just get tacos with my wife. That should speak in volume. There’s about 500 Mexican food places from my house to there too. None come close to this place of the gods. It can’t be beat!! Book a table now
The food didn't live up to the expectations, and the service was also lacking. We dined in for lunch, and the cost per person was between $50 and $100.
